Why does acclaimed director James Cameron love oceans so much?

It is quite a flooring fact that humans have only discovered about 20 percent of the entire ocean. 80 percent of the ocean is uncharted, unmapped, and undiscovered territory. One person out to change that trend in the oceans is well-known director and oceanographer, James Cameron.

A man who could have easily racked up the box office funds after early critical acclaim, Cameron chose to fulfill his lifelong dream of cavernous exploration via submersibles and continuous exploration

“I look for things that haven’t been done. I like finding that gap between everything that hasn’t been done and what I think can be done.”

James Cameron for The Guardian

How has James Cameron explored the darkest parts of the ocean?

The ocean itself is an enigmatic behemoth. It is quite a marvelous task to try and map out the entirety of the ocean.

Therefore, Cameron and his crewmates have picked apart significant portions of the undercurrent. Cameron and crew are fascinated by the accessible “alien worlds” available for the cost of scuba equipment.

Here are some ways by which James Cameron delves deep into the ocean:

Cameron travels via small, sophisticated submersible vehicles that allow for definitive archaeological determinations. He also uses cutting-edge human exploration to provide frontiers of knowledge.

Additionally, Cameron unleashes the sheer unpredictability of nature to unfold stories that leave viewers awestruck. And he opens a specific window in history to create stories that live on in underwater lore.

James Cameron knew that he had a dream he wanted to fulfill since a young boy. At age 16, he begged his father to enroll him in a scuba class until he finally landed a dive.

In Buffalo, NY, as an adolescent amongst a group full of adults, Jimmy Cameron got his opportunity to learn how to scuba dive and then never relinquished it.

“My idea of a vacation is to take the whole family to Tahiti and spend the week doing underwater photography with underwater vehicles.”

James Cameron for The Guardian

James Cameron’s exploratory oceanography

The most impressive feat accomplished by Cameron gives him ultimate explorative credibility. He was the first solo visitor to reach the bottom of Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench.

Challenger Deep is 7 miles below the surface and represents our planet’s lowest point. This is just one of many remarkable descents into the ocean made by the likes of James Cameron.

James Cameron is respected within the oceanography realm because he is a true leader. By utterly immersing himself in maritime efforts, Cameron attacks the behemoth, cavernous underdwelling that is the ocean.

He excels at displaying humanity, intimacy, emotions, and also technical complexity. His unwillingness to settle has thus provided major wavelengths via fresh content that provides intellectual purpose.

It is all of our jobs to learn more about the oceans

Director James Cameron still does not just conduct his love for oceans and his love for films separately. Rather, he combines the two so the rest of the world can explore. With Titanic, Deepsea Challenge 3D, and the mesmerizing The Abyss, Cameron has given fans of his films for years also the reason to be fans of the wonders of the ocean.

Cameron does not pursue anything that he is not willing to try his hand at as well. That fact alone, also coupled with his proper storytelling and courageous content shows how Cameron wishes to contextualize our future – through exploration and frontiers of knowledge.

Theravada speaks on the underground NY hip hop scene

A few months back, we got the opportunity to chop it up with Theravada on the cusp of releasing his most recent project, “Xenophon.”

The album, Xenophon, symbolizes introspection and showcases tremendous content and perspective.

“I pray my friends don’t fade into obscurity.

The sun rise – better make your bread lift.

Don’t try to front like I’m not telepathic.”

Theravada’s Xenophon

Kulture Hub: So Xenophon is the name of your most recent album and you dropped it on your birthday?

Theravada: I dropped it on my name day. In Greek tradition, most names are tied to a saint and there is a specific day when these saints are observed. This is often celebrated like a birthday in American culture.

The name day is the day that relatives will reach out to you and see how you’re doing, send you gifts, etc.

Theravada offers some game within the health realm

KH: “Everything seems cool until you giving into simply what’s tempting.” (Xenophon’s lyric)

How do you overcome temptations and what might be some good universal coping mechanisms for aspiring artists or people in general?

THRVD: Keep a healthy routine especially now with all of the bureaucratic disaster. Wake up early and make tea. Eat fruit every day. Give yourself the small victories so that the bigger victories don’t feel so big anymore and the larger goals don’t feel so large anymore.

When I arrange my projects – I literally treat them like a mixtape – like I play all the songs through and cut them up – start them in the middle and bring them back in real time.

Theravada

Discussing discography with Theravada

KH: Labels are boring to me but I know you have Xen Griffey, Xenny Hardaway and Xennis Rodman. Would you consider those as a mixtape trilogy and Xenophon your debut album or what? Because I know you have dropped “State of the Art” and other projects as well.

THRVD: Yes. You are seeing that through and I appreciate that. Xen Griffey, Xenny Hardaway, Xennis Rodman that was definitely the mixtape run… Xen Griffey is very much so a mixtape by industry standards – and even the way that I arranged it. When I arrange my projects – I literally treat them like a mixtape – like I play all the songs through and cut them up – start them in the middle and bring them back in real-time.

THRVD: State of the Art felt like it required a bit more prowess involved during the recording and arrangement process. I didn’t feel like as much of a novice as I did with Xen Griffey.

Xenny Hardaway is its own beast because I recorded that in 2 days with mostly Rob Chambers beats. Xennis Rodman is an amalgamation of some old songs – mostly new songs recorded over a 9 month period.

Know yourself & apply your worth

KH: You’re an artist that strikes me as someone who really nurtures their tracks and production as you decide when to stash it and when to hatch it. Would you say it’s better to become a producer before you become a recording artist and what’s the importance of keeping music in the vault?

THRVD: Before even making that distinction of what should be done first, I think it is a matter of doing what you want to do. I started as a DJ for my rapper friends. That knack to be able to manipulate audio in real-time and even keep a party going or engage a crowd at a show – I began to realize I can engage a crowd in real-time even if I am just behind the turntables.

xenophon

KH: What is it like being firmly within the throws of the underground NY hip-hop scene?

THRVD: The new underground to me means functioning at the same standard as a label, or how we may believe a label should or could have operated. I try to treat 2000 Entertainment like I don’t run it. Like I have to keep up with what 2000 expects from me as the CEO, Producer, Engineer, shipping & handling and doing all these things. I treat it like I might get fired if I’m not clocking in at the right time.

Theravada’s Xenophon is intimately personal

Nothing happens randomly. Occurrences are a byproduct of fate, faith and work ethic. Theravada knows the places he prefers and chooses to work with those that exhibit professionalism and flavor. Hence, he serves as a pivotal component within underground New York hip-hop spheres.

Theravada’s latest self-titled offering, Xenophon, could be the most cohesive project that he has released to date.

The album is called Xenophon which is not some “self-dubbed nickname,” but rather the artist’s actual name anointed at birth.

We appreciate Theravada’s time speaking with us, and implore you all to consume his art here.

CBD esports brand SummaForte on how to maintain a proactive lifestyle

Within esports, specific brands tap into the solutions for issues and/or ailments that surround gamers in the industry. SummaForte is an esports company that provides CBD wellness tape with CO2 extraction technology to calm the everyday gamer

Throughout our youth, a lot of what they told us did not turn out to be true. For example, many people would tell us that video games are a waste of time.

However, there is an entire community of streamers who utilize their online gaming presence on platforms such as Twitch to establish financial freedom. And the merging of esports and CBD wellness changes the game even more.

SummaForte set out to fill a specific niche from its inception

Summaforte’s niche-specific product possesses top performer bioavailability and a special component called Dehydratech. Together with Lexaria Biosciences, these companies come together to implement kinesiology that reduces inflammation and irritation.

The key component of our conversation with SummaForte Co-Founder and G2 (Go-To-Market Lead) Murtagh Thinnes and its brand representative, Brax, came down to proactive behavior. One should always care for their body whether or not it is ailing.

The conversation also consisted of daily healthcare routines and how the SummaForte CBD mixture with gaming tape benefits esports athletes.

A conversation with SummaForte

Kulture Hub: How would you say that your product connects you with a wide spectrum of people? And how did you get started being a part of this virtual community?”

Murtagh Thinnes: We are really focused right now on building an active community on our socials, the various touchpoints we have across the channels that were active on. There’s been a lot of interest in these products from different groups, esports teams, and a large orthopedic practice in the Mid-Atlantic that recently set up an esports Center of Excellence.

KH: Braxton had mentioned he played 15 hours a day when he was growing up, how much would you recommend is standard per day to maintain health?

Brax: Yeah obviously 15 hours is not healthy at all. And I do not recommend it. But when you’re just in school, and that’s all you got to worry about – you know, you can find time to do that. But I would say anywhere from five to six hours a day, if you’re trying to be professional and really take it serious. I think that’s a good number to start with.

“I started playing when I was seven I went pro at fourteen. So yeah, I’ve been around for a while. I think my relationship with SummaForte just made sense because they always promote a healthy lifestyle.”

Braxton “Brax” Pierce

Opportunities exist on the horizon for both SummaForte and Brax

MT: You look at traditional athletics and traditional athletes have a number of resources that they can go to to take care of their bodies and keep their minds in peak condition. Gamers not so much. So that’s really where SummaForte fits in. And we’re excited to be a part of that narrative.

The world of esports and how athletes can benefit from CBD

KH: You mentioned that esports is a physical crucible. Can you take us through what that entails in terms of how physically taxing it is to be an online athlete?

Brax: The biggest thing with gamers is wrist pain, finger injuries, and arthritis. If you have to deal with something like that it can be career-changing.”

KH: Why is it better to be proactive rather than reactive?

Brax: To just stay ahead of the curve and really focus on your health. That’s the cool thing about the SummaTape – even if you don’t have a finger injury or inflammation – it can also prevent it.

MT: We’re really excited by the opportunity to bring a really high-quality nootropic and lutein ingredient to gaming.

The nature of gaming and CBD wellness’ role in it

KH: What are some ways you began to build rapport with your client base?

MT: We went out and talked to gamers, and confirmed that their main pains are in musculoskeletal and vision/cognitive strain. So our two products SummaTape and SummaMix were built to address those concerns.

KH: Are there any other sectors besides gaming that your product has seen demand?”

MT: We feel that with our products being catered to healthy lifestyles and performance that we can find some strong traction in areas like orthopedic practices where gamers are getting serious musculoskeletal injuries. Also traditional athletics is an obvious one – we’ve had an Olympic runner try our products and gotten [sic] some really good feedback there. Blue-collar workers, octogenarians, you know, all over the spectrum.

Summaforte: a revolutionary CBD esports brand

Without a doubt, SummaForte has created a product that empowers its representatives. It makes them healthy, strong and also gives them the ability to overpower their opponents.

Longevity is key in the esports industry because gamers are held to a very small margin of error while not receiving equal amount of breaks and intermissions.

By increasing body function, SummaForte contributes to improved cognitive performance and stabilization. CBD wellness saves some people’s lives and livelihoods, and SummaForte understood that esports athletes can benefit from it as well.

2021 college graduates emerge to a new world: How should they feel?

The first step to becoming the strongest version of oneself is sheer confidence, self-sturdiness, and awareness of the fact that there is something you can do that NOBODY else can do. Nobody knows this better than the college graduates of 2021.

The graduating class of 2021 experienced a gradual sense of loss and shock during what has been deemed “The Great Pause.” The polarization of our modern world and government negligence at the time of the initial outbreak (Feb., March 2020) have combined to create quite a precarious situation for recent graduates.

Statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show a 3.5 percent drop in college enrollment (ages 16-24) and an 8.7 percent decrease in employment since 2019 (ages 20-29). Thus, it is fair to say there has never been a better time to ditch the college debt and pick up a trade.

Demand for trade work is incredibly high at the moment

Many trades pay incredibly well because the work is tedious and not as widely encouraged as the college route.

college graduates 2021
Many women find success in male-dominated spaces when they pick up a trade (via Unsplash)

When it comes to actual graduation ceremonies, it appears that the pushback has come from parents more so than students.

Regardless, the trend for 2021 college graduates seems to lean toward in-person and outdoor graduations. But, for those who are facing the virtual bubble ceremony, some decided to (Go)fund their own ceremony such as students at the University of Tampa

Using Covid as a collegiate stepping stone

Overall, it comes down to timing and setting. It just plain stinks to have to have gone to college during the COVID era. Plain and simple – the virus provided multiple limitations.

The biggest setback from a general perspective is the lack of networking that came as a result. It is clear that most of the time who you know is more important than what you know. COVID canceled countless social events which made it difficult to swarm social circles.

Many college students call upon their mentors or people within their desired spaces to try and strategize the best path of movement for themselves.

via GIPHY

In a Zoom meeting, people are much less likely to divulge key pieces of information because of the formality that the setting provides and the fact that everything on the internet is recorded.

2021 college graduates will overcome

The entire process has provided challenges for recent college graduates. Many traditional styles of graduation have been foregone in lieu of health restrictions and protocols.

There is much less spectacle or circumstance surrounding the events. Yet, those young adults will carry on. There is no doubt that these unimaginable hardships will only make them stronger and more seasoned.

Imagine with me now for a second if you would. You know you are gifted and you even know what your gift is. The question then becomes – how will you implement your gift to make it accessible to the masses?

How will you channel your pain and what torments you into a universally accepted medium? That is the challenge that we all face if we wish to help others.

So, as long as you know what you are doing is right and operate off of that gut instinct, just keep completing that journey. Your moment is right around the corner.

LeBron James and MTN Dew Rise recharge us with a new collaboration

MTN Dew has launched their new, “Rise” campaign with LeBron James to motivate individuals around the world to get up and get after it.

Who better to exemplify the notion of morning greatness than LeBron James? Together with PepsiCo, Mountain Dew tapped LeBron in for their newest drink and it is a major rebrand from the previous “Kickstart” energy drink.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yWAzvBjh4c
Who would LeBron be if he snoozed?

The beverage itself is not touted as an energy drink, yet it has all the components of one.

The company boasts the fact that it has 180 mg caffeine (twice as much as Kickstart) natural fruit juice, antioxidants, Zinc and Vitamins A+C. Certainly, these ingredients are wonderful and provide immunity, brain boost and mental resilience.

MTN Dew Having LeBron James on board makes for a great campaign

It only makes sense to moonbeam LeBron James at the forefront of the ‘Rise’ campaign. He just signed a fresh multi-year deal with Pepsi and is the third most marketable athlete on the globe [according to Nielsen].

Not only that, but he personifies greatness and the ability to rise every morning, rise above adversity and rise to the upper echelon to be amongst the most elite company.

There is no doubt about it that LeBron James is a model citizen. He has nary a blemish on his record – we’re talking squeaky clean. He has risen above the naysayers and carried teammates oftentimes forcing them to rise further than their typical capabilities. Night in and night out, LeBron continuously demands more from himself and those who surround him.

Rise Above – Pharrell Ft. Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose

That is exactly what this ad campaign is seeking to illuminate. The advertisement itself does a great job of showing what might have been the case if LeBron did not rise to the occasion and just settled for mediocrity. It then swirls around to show all of the things LeBron does have a stake in (HBO Show, I Promise School, Springhill Company etc.)

A Bev With Multiple Flavors

The Mountain Dew Rise drink (16 oz. cans) comes in seven different flavors: Pomegranate, Blue Burst, Orange Breeze, Strawberry Melon Spark, Tropical Sunrise, Berry Blitz and Peach Mango Dawn.

The part that the company fails to mention is some of the other ingredients included: Artificial sweeteners such as sucralose and Ace-K. Most caffeinated drinks contain a standard 10 mg of caffeine per ounce whereas Mountain Dew Rise has about 11.25 mg of caffeine per oz. It also contains aspartame which is an incredibly toxic chemical often seen in most ‘Diet’ drinks.

“’Winning with Purpose’ reflects our ambition to win sustainably in the marketplace and embed purpose into all aspects of our business strategy and brands.”

(PepsiCo)

Winning with purpose sounds great but what is the point of providing an ingredient list without giving the amount as well? On any can of soda, you will see that they list ingredients in descending order. Meaning, the first ingredient that it listed is often the one with the highest content volume.

lebron james mtn dew

For instance, on Mountain Dew Rise they do not tell you how much Citicoline is in the drink – but it is one of the most highly touted ingredients. You can ‘conquer the day’ with Citicoline as it boosts your metabolism, learning, focus and overall mental capacity.

Citicoline is listed directly before caffeine on the list so therefore it contains more than 180 mg – which is good. Citicoline’s benefits are unclear here because while we know it has somewhere above 180 mg but we do not know how much exactly. The minimum effective dosage for citicoline is 250 mg in order to achieve the desired results mentioned.

So, you can see how it might be tricky to gauge if this product is definitively and absolutely beneficial for your morning health. Most people are on the intermittent fasting train anyway and only start to nourish their bodies once it fully awakens around lunchtime.

Regardless, this product could be the jolt you need to get you started in the morning. Rise above the status quo and break boundaries with a Mountain Dew Rise drink today!

Your mental health and the crypto bubble: How to stay 10 toes down

HODL! A term we’ve all heard since Bitcoin went to the moon. Still, it’s safe to say this crypto bubble has put our mental health on the back burner

When it comes to mental stability, you must play the role of regulator. Ensuring strong brain health starts with routines and ends with consistency. You cannot operate on autopilot and expect to achieve optimal intellectual health.

mental health cryto
Our minds and bodies should be synchronized operatives (via Unsplash)

We must always take inventory of ‘open tabs’ within our cranium and practice cognizance. Especially as we continue to live in this crypto bubble.

Being emotionally aware and building coping strategies with proactive rather than reactive methods can bring an individual to the place they need to be.

Being cognitively aware takes time and resilience

Awareness involves head-on-a-swivel type thinking in order to always spot out the next best course of action. In regards to cryptocurrency, giving it a few days and taking breaks will benefit the trader mightily.

A popular term within the Bitcoin community is ‘HODL.’ It stemmed from the word hold but it is an acronym that stands for Hold On For Dear Life.

That is exactly what you should do with any type of cryptocurrency – especially Bitcoin. Given the fact that Bitcoin has a finite amount of coins created, holding it causes its’ value to increase.

Your mental health playbook for crypto gains

Hold, hold, hold and only invest amounts that you can afford. This time around, the Bitcoin bubble has expanded farther than before and has generated greater staying power. The reason for this extended stay derives from the type of investors on board.

bitcoin
Bitcoin will be around for many moons (via Unsplash)

With greater amounts of institutional investments as opposed to retail investments, Bitcoin has greater potential. Not only that, but since it operates on the blockchain it has stronger purchasing power.

Here are five ways to ensure mental health and crypto stability in your everyday habits:

  1. Create a market cap for gains and losses to reduce impulsivity
  2. Build an order of operations and never break the routine
  3. Track your time on task in order to manage the hours you are online
  4. Do not mistake exchanges for wallets – ensure complete ownership of digital assets
  5. Be emotionally neutral – focus on methodology, trade framework and percentages

Know yourself and appoint your best mental health practices

It is extremely important to prioritize your rational mind over your emotional mind to maintain crypto mental health. Also, compartmentalization is a huge component when it comes to experiencing homeostasis.

crypto tokens
The more generic a ‘token use case’ is the more likely it will succeed (via Unsplash)

At times, it is best to just make your trades and go on Do Not Disturb mode. Those who obsess over every trade, boom or bust are often the ones who burn out the fastest.

Once you plan out your moves, make them with confidence and check back later – the bitcoin board will still be there when you return.

Cleanse your crypto psyche by blocking out spaces within your day

Mental sustainability is key in this cryptocurrency game and you must create time for family and friends. Trading could quite possibly be a second side hustle for you. But, it should only consume a portion of your day as your loved ones deserve the majority of your downtime.

Ultimately, your mindset in this crypto bubble will control your approach. You should enter the crypto space with an open mind and think long-term with hefty investments.

That way, minor scrapes and bruises will roll off of your Teflon skin because you got your sights set on major players not just the apprentice.

With compartmentalization, diversification, purpose and anti-authoritarianism you have everything you might need to amplify your cryptocurrency presence. Jah Bless!

Monique Lorden, 1985 Poet, constantly evolves in art and basketball

Monique Lorden, the artist working under the name 1985 Poet, is a revolutionary individual, through and through. Growing up, there were never any limitations placed upon her endeavors, and rather boundary-pushing was encouraged.

Monique and her sister were the only two girls to make the all-boys basketball team and she continues to carry that can-do attitude with her daily.

Monique showcases her winning backboard in stylish fashion (via Justen Williams)

In collaboration with Brandon ‘Bmike’ Odums – Monique won the Red Bull x New Orleans Pelicans ‘NOLA Has Wiiings’ contest with her “Hoop Dreams & Poetry” backboard.

The goal of this transformative project aimed to replace backboards in the Crescent City. All eight participants contributed artistic prowess toward the embetterment of the community. We took some time to chop it up with Monique and tap into her basketball background.

Monique Lorden/1985 Poet

Kulture Hub: Who are you? What’s your brand? What are you all about?

Monique Lorden: I create under the name ‘1985 poet’ because I am a poet, not just an artist but also a writer. But that’s also the year I feel like the most high put someone on this earth to create change.

KH: What is your basketball playing style? How has this contributed to your artistic style if at all?

ML: I’m a shooting guard, my sister was a point guard. I had a pretty good shot. I love basketball. And I think it does translate into my art. Because if you played sports, that’s resilience, that’s practice, discipline and focus. I think that me growing up as an athlete prepared me for the arts.

1985 poet
Monique and her sister were the only girls to make the boys team. Not only that, they excelled on the team. (via Red Bull)

KH: How does your backboard represent New Orleans?

ML: I like to think it screams New Orleans because it’s got the lights, the colors, the flair. If you’ve ever been to New Orleans then you know that’s what we’re all about. You go down Canal Street, you go down to the second lines [parades], you go down anywhere on Claiborne and that’s what you see – lights flashing, people partying and bright colors.

I guess the goal itself, my basketball goal aesthetically relates to New Orleans because I find that it is a contrast. You know, I use the black and white stripes. New Orleans is very colorful. We are a city of greatness and a city of improvement.

Variety in art installations

KH: What other artistic endeavors have you pursued?

ML: I did two other installations with metals. I have another installation at Studio Be in New Orleans and another metal installation that was a part of a city initiative exhibit.

justen williams
The finished product – man does that look clean! – who’s ready to get a bucket? (via Justen Williams)

KH: What factors do you think made you the winner of this contest?

ML: For a woman to pick up a sander and all these different tools that are needed for metal fabrication to learn how to weld and put things together [helped teach] the difference between iron and aluminum. So to learn lighting installation, I don’t think anyone saw that coming. They were expecting me to paint a basketball goal. And I in turn, do some welding. And you know, drill through that iron rim and then installed lights.

“I always say the only difference between someone who’s done it and the person who dreams of doing it is the decision to just do it.”

Monique Lorden

KH: How did your background contribute to the specific medium you are working in?

ML: I come from acrylics and topicals. So I’ve always had that visual approach, but I never boxed myself in. I decided I want to do something a little different – I want to work with metals, I want to challenge myself.

Red Bull
Monique went above and beyond to provide a masterpiece for her community (via Red Bull)

KH: It is clear that you were raised within a culture of perseverance. In what ways did your family teach you to embrace the struggle in order to overcome?

ML: Being raised in a pretty modest upbringing and sometimes seeing my parents live check to check – I don’t even think it’s an embracing the struggle, it is being [immsered] within the struggle. The struggle is not enough. We don’t have to exist and live in the struggle. It has its place to teach us – to help us be better. But beyond that, you gotta rise above that.

Love at the heart of 1985 Poet

KH: What is your most crucial daily affirmation? The most resounding statement that you live by?

ML: I tell myself every day that I am love, and I am worthy to be loved. Because we know love is truly the revolution. Love is gonna change everything.

KH: It is clear you have a commanding presence and magnetic aura. How does love, faith and rebirth play a role in your artistic process?

ML: We try to define love so often – I think it’s only human to do so. You have romantic love, friendship or familiar love with families. But when you love your community and you have a purpose, and love is at the center of your core, there is no difference in love, love is love, right?

1985 poet
Love is the revolution and Monique embodies that statement to the fullest (via 1985poet)

The same way that I love community, I put my heart out there for my community, I like to think that I do the same for my family. Because after all, we are all apart of something bigger than us, which is community.

I don’t try to isolate or define what love is, I just try to be it. I find that if I am love, I won’t have to figure out how to love.

It’s kind of like the way that I define peace. We always hear people say, “I gotta find my peace of mind. I’m trying to find peace right now.

I challenged myself a couple years ago. I was standing in the middle of Times Square, and you know, New York, and everything is moving around me. Everything was moving. I’m like, if I can be peace in this moment, then nothing can touch me.

In summation…

Indeed, nothing is coming near the radiance and glowing magnificence that 1985 Poet personifies. She has found what makes her whole, the love she deserves and puts her 10K80 to max capacity every week.

Clearly, she continues to discover her why and is a living testament of the fact that, “There’s More to Life.” Now, it is your turn to do the same. Spread Love. One.

What is ScamCoin? The alt-coin that made one TikToker millions

No cap… What is SCAMCoin?

Andre Lewis is a TikToker with a master plan. On TikTok, he goes by @dreesuschrist, and in real life, his friends call him Dre. Many of us, including Andre, have witnessed the pump-and-dump schemes that have saturated the Bitcoin market.

SCAMCoin is legit… Andre Lewis swears

To piggyback off of the sheer ridiculousness that transpires with cryptocurrency coin launches – Andre decided to launch the SCAMCoin. “Simple Cool Automatic Money” aims to make life easier for whoever holds the coin.

scamcoin
Invest at your own risk…(via Vice)

It only cost a couple of hundred dollars to create the coin, but somehow within the first hour of launching – SCAMCoin skyrocketed to $70M

“Today you have a whole bunch of speculation in crypto, in NFTs, in Bitcoin, this coin, that coin. It’s a bunch of speculation, and people are just using it to their advantage,” he told Motherboard. “People don’t invest in coins based on utility; they invest because it’ll be listed on Coin Gecko or Coin Market Cap or Coinbase. They invest based on the news, not what the token can accomplish.”

Andre Lewis (via Motherboard)

Andre’s intentions have yet to be discovered when it comes to his coin. It is clear that he did not expect to have the volume come rushing in the way that it did. His page is flooded with criticism of useless coins, yet he created his own coin with absolutely no aim or purpose in mind.

With financial backing the opportunities are endless

Given the fact that SCAMCoin has seen incredible investment and created a small blip on the Bitcoin radar, it is now time to repurpose its function. Dre is working on restructuring and fine-tuning the coin to make it usable and educational, even.

https://twitter.com/SCAMBSC/status/1387279953625034754?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1387279953625034754%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fballeralert.com%2Fprofiles%2Fblogs%2Fblack-tiktoker-creates-scamcoin-and-reaches-70m-within-a-hour%2F

Although it was unwise to create a coin without any angle in mind, Dre did smartly place SCAMcoin on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) which allows for two key factors:

  1. Less energy consumption
  2. Various programmable tricks to increase coin value

So, there you have it – the SCAMCoin. It does not seem like this token will be sustainable or serve any actual function.

GOAT Pele enters crypto world to benefit those in poverty

Pele, FIFA’s most decorated soccer star, launched his own NFT to commemorate his life’s efforts and further cement his legacy. The 80-year-old legend is seen by many as the GOAT in soccer, and now Pele has entered the crypto space.

In collaboration with Kingsletter and Visual Lab, Edson Arantes do Nascimento (better known as Pelé) released 3D collectible trading cards to be purchased in NFT form. The licensed collection dropped on May 2 and consisted of 3-6 highly authentic minted pieces.

With the ever-growing platform, Ethernity Chain, the two powerhouse entities combined forces in order to make it possible to grab a share of history.

“The Pelé NFT is likely to be the gold-standard of football NFTs. In recent months, several of Europe’s major clubs, including Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan, have released digital tokens to better engage with fans via the popular Socios platform.”

The beautiful part about the entire process is the fact that 90 percent of the proceeds will go to the Pele Foundation. The Pele Foundation directly contributes its donations to children who are facing the unimaginable hardships of poverty and food insecurity.

Pele makes a difference

In the short duration that we are placed on this universe, we try to make life last as long as we can. Some people choose to invest, others choose to splurge. But either way, it is how we affect change between the margins that really counts.

Those who think not just of themselves but of others in their times of prosperity deserve our notice and praise. Pelé has long been beloved by fans across the world; this is just another reason.

Certainly, Pele’s foray into the crypto world is one of the more noble NFT releases as the majority of funds will go directly to the less fortunate. Bravo, Pele!

Are the NBA play-in games good for players’ mental health?

The NBA has been a vanguard for conversations surrounding mental health in recent years. Now with the NBA play-in games, a whole new wrinkle to the fold has been introduced.

For the longest time, the two best words in all of sports have been – game 7. Undoubtedly so, there is no replacing combative competition that culminates to the ultimate neutralizer of a game 7 matchup. Each team pours their entire physical, mental and intellectual prowess onto the court until it is totally their time to shine in one final matchup.

Now, the NBA is no stranger to the funds. They know that the pandemic and slight lapses in action have caused their bottom line to shrink in a minor way. Nearly a stone’s throw in the ocean for the revenue that the league makes, they decided to be proactive with a new postseason method to rev up the ratings.

But are the play-in games really fair for NBA players’ mental health?

NBA players’ mental health has been put to the test in recent years

The question becomes: does this newly created competition spike benefit the players? That answer can be left to interpretation as many of the responses may vary on a case-by-case basis.

Above all else, this development is certainly testing the strength and mental health capacity of players on teams who were not able to secure one of the first seven seeds in their respective conference(s).

This is not the first time we have seen expansion and experimentation leading into the playoffs. NCAA continues to add play in games prior to the March Madness field of 64 and the NFL just added two additional slots to expand their postseason playing field as well.

The NBA play-in games represent the disconnect between the league office and the players

The overarching theme this season has been the disconnect between NBA commissioner Adam Silver and his constituents. Last summer, Silver was gung-ho about instituting social change efforts and allowed the players to voice their issues on social justice issues.

The players responded immediately with warm-up gear, accessories and addressed systemic issues in nearly every post or pre-game press conference. Many players chose to utilize their platform to speak out for the injustice surrounding Breonna Taylor’s murder (Louisville, KY).

In what lasted as a brief trial run for social justice messaging, Silver quickly noticed a plunge in ratings and decided to save face.

When it comes to professional sports, there is no greater determining factor than the financial bottom line. It is unfair to the players who work tirelessly to demean their efforts.

It is a much different story when players wish to be traded or seek a new team as people will spare their feelings due to the fact that it is business and not personal. Uprooted from original team? It’s all a part of the business!

But when players decide to voice their opinion on sociopolitical matters? Just stick to sports!

It is almost as if the players are puppets in a sense – only meant to perform a certain role and obey those who pull strings. Clearly, we know this to not be true as many influential athletes continue to voice their strong opinions via podcast networks and social commentary.

What bigger NBA star’s mental health to look at than the King himself

Many athletes have become prominent activists via LeBron’s UNINTERRUPTED Network. LeBron James has been one of the most outspoken when it comes to the current state of our country.

It is LeBron who first spoke up and admitted that it felt like a “slap in the face” when the Commissioner reinstated the All-Star Game after vowing to take a hiatus from All-Star Weekend.

LeBron is a very calculated player and measures the days in a bionic manner. Meaning, his freakishly gifted physique and wholesome body regimen needs ample amounts of rest as he will block out these days on the calendar months in advance.

During these days, LeBron goes through cryogenic and highly advanced restorative medicine. So, when Silver tacked the All-Star Game back onto the schedule, LeBron lost 5 transformative days that were set aside to replenish and restore nutrients + vital minerals within his veteran system.

The NBA saves face, changes course and all the while shows its backside

So, as quickly as the NBA provided this foreground to advocate last summer, they snatched it right back in a dash toward ‘normalcy.’ Certainly, voicing political opinions and using the magnitude of their persona to effectuate change could not be considered normal.

There are too many hootin’ and hollerin’ fans who despise displays of political opinion in sole favor of the fantastical escape that sports bring. God forbid, the players embody a brief social role that they wish to exhibit.

So are the NBA’s play-in games fair to players?

Yes, I understand athletes make millions to play the game that they love but these men and women work harder to earn that top dollar. Therefore, their opinions should be valued even moreso. In an ideal setting, no amount of consumer backlash would be able to stifle those genuine sentiments.

Now, players are being asked to perform at an even higher level during these play-in games. The action and sheer excitement from the likes of a winner-takes-all scenario is wonderful for the viewers – us – the connoisseurs.

But, for players that are given less rest and asked to prepare more just to put it all on the line – the situation is rather hectic.

Without a doubt, their mental health is in jeopardy and they must nourish themselves properly to maintain good standing. Evidently, it is possible for every person at hand to achieve. Furthermore, expect the NBA to institute new and exciting ways to create enthralling action as the years progress.
