These Secret Netflix codes will give you thousands of new movies to peep

Great news for Netflix users everywhere!

Netflix Codes, just posted a “secret list of codes” that will give you access to “hidden” Netflix shows and films.

All you have to do is add an access code to the end of your Netflix URL.

The content is Netflix movies and shows that were once available, but are no longer visible on the homepage.

There are lists for the content available, organized by movie genre.

All you have to do is add the code at the end of your URL. If I wanted to watch Gangster Movies, all I’d have to do is add the code: www.netflix.com/browse/genre/31851

On the anniversary of her debut album, we come together to remember Selena

Today, the word “Quintanilla” is abuzz on the internet, as we honor the late Selena Quintanilla, and celebrate the anniversary of her first studio album release, the 1989 self-titled Selena.

Even Google’s face image is a cartoon video of the Mexican superstar, a tribute to her life and short career at the top of the pop music game.

Her sister, Suzette Quintanilla, offered her support for a team of designers to create the video short. She shared with Billboard,

Google came to us with this idea of telling a story. The little girl who had a dream and she became who she became. They already had the content pretty much done, but they knew that family was everything. The little details I gave…That Selena had red nail polish on instead of bright pink. That she had hoop earrings. They even put red on the microphone the way she used to have it.”

Google has also launched an online exhibit in their Arts and Culture section, further exploring the singer’s life.

As the youngest child in her family, Selena always had a knack for the spotlight. Her parents and siblings supported her throughout her come-up, even helping her with her songwriting.

As with every new artist, the struggle was very real. Winning the Tejano Music Award in 1987 and Female Vocalist of the Year, Selena went on to win nine consecutive times after that. Because of this, she was given the title, “Queen of The Tejano.”

It was no shock, then, when the singer won a Grammy in 1994, for Best American/Mexican Album of the Year.

And who could forget, “Dreaming of You,” the hit single that had all of us misty-eyed at 12 AM, pressing rewind on our CD players?

Last month, a rare 1994 Selena interview video was released, showcasing the starlet in her final year before her untimely death.

“The first thing that came to my mind is I have to take a camera so I can take a picture with all these stars… It didn’t hit me later ‘What if we win?'”

Humble and beautiful as ever, it really brings a knot to your stomach watching the star flash her award-winning smile on the screen and discuss her feelings during her rise to fame.

She was considered a “beacon of hope” for bi-cultural people, as the “Queen of Tejando,” blended her two cultures into one mix of musical genius that shall be revered for years and year to come.

Today, Google’s Selena legacy has lived on, and rightfully so. The singer is still adored by fans all over the world, namely leaving her mark in Latin American communities and giving hope to artists of Latino heritage.

The THC tampon exists, and it’s arguably the best use of cannabis yet

So, all the cool technology I hoped for growing up may not have not been perfected just yet, (I believe the lack of flying hover-boards is a serious epidemic that should be addressed- it’s 2017, for crying out loud) but we’ve got something else on the line: THC Tampons.

The idea for the tampons started when the weed-based lube company Foria caught the attention of Dr. Jennifer Berman. Dr. Berman, a well-known Beverly Hills Urologist, then got in touch with Foria founder Matt Gerson to work on creating a product that would help relieve women of menstrual symptoms, after an older patient of hers confided that she was using Foria to help heighten her sex life.

The resulting product was a dissolving, all natural, 3-ingredient suppository (cocoa butter, 10 mg THC, CBD) and so far, testimonies have been wonderful.

First hand accounts from publications Bustle, Harpers Bazaar, and The Huffington Post have only had good things to say about ingesting the THC. From Harper Bazaar,

“Unlike a tampon, the capsule dissolves in your cervix so you don’t have to worry about it after inserting, and the effects of the suppository lasted long enough that I was able to fall asleep without pain and wake up feeling refreshed and relaxed.”

Don’t stop at THC tampons- check out the increasingly growing line of THC products available out there.

Cannabis has proven to tackle and alleviate more than one affected area in your body.

Herb shares one study by Joy J. Mack to discuss the positive affects marijuana can have on the mind.

“2000 study by Joy J. Mack discusses the benefits of using weed to alleviate muscle spasticity. Her focus is specifically on those with multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries, but similar muscle spasticity is a symptom present in many individuals dealing with menstruation.”

Mack’s research showed that spasms were greatly reduced when exposed to cannabis products, and even reduced spasms in hand movements.

“Small doses of cannabis were shown to increase animation among rodents who were feeling pain (though larger doses seemed to give them couch-lock). In an experiment on a 30-year-old with MS, a simple 5 mg dose of THC steadied his handwriting significantly.”

Seriously, guys, peep those handwriting samples.

Ladies, what do you think about this all-natural option? Are you willing to stick a gooey suppository in you and sit with your legs up for 10 minutes while it’s absorbed into your vaginal walls? Or do hover-boards make more sense?

Joe Budden opens up about mental health and his multiple suicide attempts

This past Tuesday was Mental Health Awareness Day — which was established in hopes of shedding light on mental illness and to provide the resources needed to help.

Artists from Katy Perry to Lin-Manuel Miranda all took time to use their platform to help share this important message, but none has done so more vigilantly on the behalf of hip-hop than Joe Budden.

The retired Slaughterhouse affiliate and now co-host of Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle,’ has not been shy about the path to fighting his own demons and making hip-hop a safe space for others to fight their own.

Budden was brought to tears on Everyday’s Struggle about a month ago when he and Akademicks were discussing Styles P’s interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club when the “I Get High” rapper spoke on his daughter’s suicide and the lack of mental wellness and awareness in the African American community.

Budden also spoke on the ‘Grass Routes Podcast’ for Mental Health Awareness Day. My dude gets deep about battling with suicidal thoughts before he achieved worldwide fame with his track “Pump It Up.”

“For me, there have been less than five times where I’ve actually attempted suicide,” Budden said. “That wasn’t in ’03, ’04, ‘Pump it Up’ was out then. But that didn’t mean that the days weren’t dark. That didn’t mean that the suicidal thoughts weren’t there […] when I say ’04, that’s when I didn’t really have those thoughts anymore.”

Even though he’s spoken on it before, it’s always refreshing to hear about someone’s climb out of the abyss. Budden has had worldwide success but still could not find happiness.

According to Budden, it wasn’t until stepping away from music that he was able to fully heal and process that source of his pain.

“As open as I’ve been when it comes to mental health, it wasn’t until ‘retirement’ that I was able to dive into some of the things the fans have seen. That would have never happened if I was still an active rapper. As an active rapper, I have to protect everything that comes with being signed to Shady, all the politics, all the behind-the-scenes, what it takes to get the job done.”

When you think of Kehlani, Kanye, Kid Cudi, Logic, and many others, you see that we do have an issue in our beloved industry and community that needs to be addressed. Until there are more artists committed to tearing down the stigma surrounding depression and mental wellness, we’ll still have these types of issues in our communities.

You can be the toughest or most well put together person and still suffer from issues that affect you mentally. Do not be afraid to reach out for help.

Roman Reigns will be rated higher than Stone Cold and The Rock in WWE 2K18

Oh it’s true. It’s damn true. We’re just a few days away from the release of WWE 2K18 and there’s already controversy.

This year everyone’s least favorite heel, Roman Reigns will be rated a 95 and you already know the internet is losing their shit over it.

https://twitter.com/TomCushnie/status/915929405339430914

Don’t get me wrong, Reigns is a beast (and The Guy) but should he be rated higher than his cousin The Rock who is a 93? I don’t think so.

Not only that, but Roman is also rated higher than Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker. They are both rated 93 as well, as is John Cena.

Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Goldberg, and (1997) Stone Cold are rated at 92 followed by Daniel Bryan with a 91 and AJ Styles at 90.

I don’t know who’s making up these ratings, but if they’re anything like NBA 2K18 then you can expect a lot of athletes to be pissed.

Could Vince McMahon have something to do with 2K’s rating of Roman? We all know how controlling he can be and he’s been trying to shove Reigns down everyone’s throat for years now.

What about the legends like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H? The list goes on and on and on so I don’t understand how 2K did the ratings this year.

Hopefully this year’s WWE 2K is better than the last couple of editions. From the looks of the screenshots, it feels realer than ever but we’ll have to wait and see the final product.

What are the chances that even though he’s the most hated, Roman Reigns will be the most used character online? I’m willing to bet on that!

WWE 2K18 drops next week on October 13th.

Sit down Scorsese, Quavo is working on script for new Migos movie

Migos are a national treasure.

They are well and truly cultural icons, with their songs turning into memes and their interviews becoming social media fodder. Their aptly named album Culture peaked at number 1 on the Billboard charts and individually they are being tapped up by other artists for stylish crossover features.

Now it appears that they may be sliding on into the film game. In a Monday interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Migos alluded to this new move.

When Lowe asked them about any movements outside music, Offset dropped the knowledge,

“My boy Quavo writing the scripts. He been in that kitchen trying to whip up.” To which
Quavo went on to speak about his own film influences:

“I’m a ’90s and all my favorite movies got the dope artists in them. Juice, Menace II Society, All the Snoop Dogg movies, Master P movies, Big Tymers movies. That’s what we’re doing right now; we’re looking into the script.”

This could truly be one of the toughest films ever. We’ve seen a lot of hip-hop biopics recently with Straight Outta Compton and that trash Tupac movie we don’t need to talk about, but it’d be cool to see one in the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ mold where the artists are still very much active in the game.

Quavo is already the master of the hook and I wouldn’t bet against him when it comes to cheffing up a movie script. While we’re at it, can we get dude to rewrite “The Star-Spangled Banner”? It’s in our nation’s best interests.

The eldest Migo also confirmed the status of a Quavo and Travis Scott album, Quavo told Zane Lowe, “We still figuring it out with the music. We got all that we wanna do, we just trying to get all the track listing.”

Keep it locked for more details, you already know we have all the necessary Migos news on deckington.

Pharrell is on his woke shit, gives rousing speech at VH1’s ‘Hip-Hop Honors’

Last night VH1 aired their Hip-Hop Honors award show. The annual event pays tribute to hip-hop’s best and brightest, this year focusing on “90s Game Changers.”

Performances from Missy Elliot and Teyana Taylor brought the 90s to life and honorees like Mariah Carey tied the show together for a nostalgic trip. Amongst all the nostalgia, Pharrell Williams gave a speech with a tone we’ve sadly heard before.

Pharrell took his time on stage to speak on our country’s divided social climate. During his speech Pharrell urged viewers to “open your eyes” and pay attention to what’s going on around us.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JM4X9Dgs_E

Denouncing the sudden rise of white nationalism and hate, Pharrell spoke from the perspective of someone who wants peace. This speech fit into the 90s theme perfectly as it would have been just as relevant 20 years ago.

When addressing those who don’t look like him Pharrell went on to say,

“For everybody else in this country…don’t think because they’re coming at the African-Americans and the Jewish community and the Hispanics that it can’t be you too just because you look like them… The enemy is this divisive mentality, it’s on this side of the wall — it’s already here”.

Without addressing specific moments, Pharrell’s speech was a call to action for not only those who are directly oppressed, but the entire country.

In a country where we have people raising the Nazi flag in honor of hate, Pharrell warns “the white nationalists are walking towards your future — what you gonna do?”

On his “Jon Snow shit” artists like Pharrell continue to make these conversations heard where they need to be.

Earlier this month Williams agreed to take part in a free concert in Charlottesville alongside Dave Matthews Band, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Ariana Grande, and a slew of other A-List artists.

As hate continues to grow in this country Pharrell urges love to grow right next to it.

Minnesota wants to replace Christopher Columbus statue with Prince monument

A couple of weeks ago, white supremacists took to Charlottesville, Virginia to rally around a statue of Robert E. Lee. The images coming out of Charlottesville, the resulting counter protests, and the death of a protestor, put the issue of confederate statues in the spotlight.

As a country we have to examine exactly who we celebrate in the public sphere and what that person may represent to all Americans.

Frankly, confederate monuments don’t belong in our country. Anywhere. These statues honor a rebel army that fought to preserve white supremacy and slavery. They also represent LOSERS! SAD!

Anyways, the debate about confederate monuments has now sparked a debate about all statues and monuments in America. A petition in Virginia called for a confederate monument to be replaced with a statue of VA legend Missy Elliot.

Similarly, activists in Minnesota have started a petition to have a statue of Christopher Columbus removed and replaced by someone who truly represents the real Minnesota… Prince.

The petition states that Christopher Columbus is a man that sought to “extinguish Black and Native peoples,” and naturally any monument to Columbus does not belong in a public place.

From the petition:

“Across the nation, city governments are choosing to remove statues of white supremacists, slave owners, and those who threatened the livelihood of Black people. Here in Minnesota, communities are reigniting the demand to bring down state’s monument to Christopher Columbus, a man who murdered, raped and enslaved Black and Native peoples in the Americas. We, the undersigned, do not believe that Columbus represents the values Minnesotans carry. Rather than glorify a man who wanted to extinguish Black and Native peoples, we should honor members of our community whose leadership we find inspirational.”

Minnesota has a sizable Native community and Christopher Columbus represents the atrocities inflicted upon those populations throughout the history of our country.

These kinds of debates aren’t going anywhere. We need to honor people who actually made this country better, like Prince, not mediocre old white dudes.

Peep the brolic new NYC Nike headquarters with bball court and food truck

Nike announced today that they were movin’ on east as part of an effort to deliver NYC-inspired products to a local customer base in a more organic and efficient way.

While Nike will keep their functioning home base in Beaverton, Oregon, the company sees their Big Apple headquarters as a crucial part of their new Consumer Direct Offense. What the hell is that, you ask?

Well, earlier this month, Nike made massive moves to restructure the company, cutting 2 percent of its work force in an effort to keep their hold at the top of an ever-changing market landscape.

Earlier in June, as part of the rollout of Nike’s new Consumer Direct Offense, Mark Parker, company chairman, president, and CEO said of the initiative,

“The future of sport will be decided by the company that obsesses the needs of the evolving consumer. Through the Consumer Direct Offense, we’re getting even more aggressive in the digital marketplace, targeting key markets and delivering product faster than ever.”

Ten days after announcing those layoffs, Nike unveiled their plans at 855 Sixth Avenue in the heart of Manhattan.

Nike

Nike’s new Big Apple headquarters show the company’s active dedication to casting their influence across the city.

With retail shops now in SoHo, NikeLab 21M on Mercer St., the Upper East Side’s Nike Running, and the cooperative Nike Community Store in Brooklyn, Nike has some major geography covered, all with a different area-specific twist.

Nike

The office at 855 Sixth Avenue is a state of the art facility with ridiculous amenities, according to Footwear News, the new headquarters will not be short on niceties,

“The New York headquarters boasts open-plan, freestyle work spaces, conference rooms with ceiling tiles made from recycled materials, a roof terrace with plants that form a Swoosh logo, and food served from a truck inside the building.”

Of course, you’ll also be able to ball out. Again from Footwear News,

“An immediately recognizable highlight of the space is its 4,000-square-foot indoor basketball court, which will be available for Nike staff, local leagues, high school teams and community partners. The court is accompanied by seating for 400 people.”

It remains to be seen if this strategy will work for the sportswear giants. Nike obviously sees the rapidly-changing world of e-commerce and fashion and is trying to adapt.

Nike

These kinds of moves are ultimately what have made Nike such a successful company, being able to see into the future of the market and acting, as opposed to reacting.

Head on up to 30th and 6th to peep the new digs.

Tom Brady continues GOAT status, gets Madden 18 cover

Even if the Madden curse was a real thing, there’s no way that shit would affect my man Tom Brady. The guy has a literally untouchable status in sports and off the field he ain’t doing too bad either.

As he winds down his career in the NFL, it’s only fitting that the man gets his first official Madden cover. The announcement and first trailer of the game was released on Friday.

With Gronk getting last year’s cover for Madden 17, that makes two consecutive Patriots players covering Madden in two years.

Even if you hate New England, you can’t argue that there isn’t a better sports icon to get this year’s cover. You can’t be mad at their decisions but does it seem like the Pats are more like a corporation than a sports franchise?

While this is Brady’s first time on Madden, this isn’t his first video game cover. Who could forget NFL GameDay 2003?!

https://twitter.com/NFL_DovKleiman/status/863032024545845248

Other than that actual gameplay video looks too fire. The game will run on Battlefield’s Frostbite engine which will provide more photo-realistic graphics and a new physics engine that is sure to be stupid lit.

The FIFA franchise transitioned to this same engine for 17 and the results were pretty ridiculous. Considering that the GOAT is on this year’s cover of Madden, it’s safe to put the expectations of the game at an all-time high. The Falcons were deadass up 28-3.
