Producer OG Parker takes artists under his wing in Red Bull’s ‘The Cut’
Today, Red Bull is debuting in the US, The Cut, a unique and innovative songwriting series, hosted by Quality Control’s multi-platinum record producer and DJ OG Parker.

The Cut pairs nine songwriters with nine producers and the pair (who have only just met) are given 10 hours to come up with an original track.
Voted for by each other, three teams will advance to the final, and compete for a chance to win a publishing deal with Red Bull Songs and receive studio time.
The series consists of four 30-minute episodes, and by the end of the series shown exclusively on Red Bull TV, one pair will be crowned champions.
The dynamic between a producer and songwriter is a special one. Often times the intimate relationship and personal understanding between the two are what yield the greatest output. Thus, giving us some of the hottest tracks in memory.
So, what will it be like when the two don’t know each other, and the clock is continuously ticking while the pair need to come up with something they both feel comfortable and happy with? Grab your popcorn and pull out your headphones; this is going to be interesting.
The Cut‘s charismatic host, OG Parker, has been with Quality Control Music since 2014. Based in Atlanta, Joshua Isaiah Parker has produced songs for Chris Brown, Gucci Mane, Tory Lanez, Migos, and many more.
Parker’s diverse musical background, from learning how to play the sax, clarinet, and piano from his grandfather to creating remixes and producing beats at Georgia State University, makes him a unique talent.
And a perfect mentor for the 18 artists looking to get their first big break.

The original tracks created throughout the series are available on Spotify, Soundcloud, and all other music streaming platforms today.
The unique outline for The Cut is going to produce some delightful visual content, and with Parker in tow, these handpicked songwriters and producers are sure to create some bangers as well.
