2019 festival lineups already show this year’s circuit is going to be stupid lit

Governor’s Ball music festival released their lineup for the 2019 installment this week and it’s looking too hot.

The lineup has something for everyone. Crowds will for sure be turning up for acts like Lil Wayne, Playboi Carti, Ty Dolla $ign, Beast Coast, and Major Lazer. R&B fans will love the sets from Blood Orange, The Internet, Noname, Jorja Smith, and Amber Mark.

And there’s way more scheduled to perform. Just take a look for yourself:

Sunday will most definitely be a wild day. The old heads and students of hip-hop will show up in waves for Nas. And it’ll be hilarious to see all the 30 year old hipster Strokes fans chopping it up with all the young’n’s waiting to get ultra hype for Sheck Wes’ “Mo Bamba.”

Consistently strong performers like SZA, Brockhampton, Vince Staples, and the Tyler, the Creator round out a stacked lineup. You’d be a fool to miss out on this.

It’s only January, but everyone is already looking forward to summer ’19. Gov Ball and the other music festivals to come are just adding to that hype. Other early lineups, like Coachella show that this summer is about to be crazy.

Coachella, aka the grandaddy of all music festivals kicks off the festival season in April, and is also usually the first lineup dropped. People show up year after year in the California desert to for a weekend of music, flower crowns, “good vibes” and hella recreational drug use.

Some even buy tickets before the lineup comes out and have to convince themselves it’s worth it, ’cause they already dropped half a month’s rent on making it out to the mecca of festivals. Lucky for those people, this year’s lineup does not disappoint.

Even with Kanye dropping out, due to “creative differences,” this year’s installment is bound to deliver. Fans get to kick off the weekend with the legendary Childish Gambino, and strong acts like Janelle Monae, Diplo, and Anderson .Paak.

The next two days feature acts like Solange, Khalid, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, YG, Wiz Khalifa, and pop superstar Ariana Grande. There’s also a whole lot of crossover between this and the Gov Ball lineup, which means some of these artists could be hitting up other festivals around the country.

Even smaller, lesser known festivals are bound to flaunt dope lineups. Just take Hangout Fest, a small festival on the beaches of the Alabama Gulf Shore. I know you’re thinking “Alabama doesn’t have any beaches. And even if they do, I’m definitely not taking my ass down there for a music festival.”

Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. There’s nothing like kicking it on the beach, with an ice cold drink in your hand, all while watching artists perform your favorite tracks.

With past headliners like Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd, Hangout proves that they’re ready to be one of the power players in the festival scene.

This is year is no different. Travis Scott, Khalid, and Cardi B were all tapped to headline and the supporting cast is solid too (Mura Masa might sneak up on you as one of the best shows you see all summer. Peep the full lineup below.

Be on the lookout for more festivals to drop their lineups in the next few months.

We still have Bonnaroo, Lallopalooza, ACL, NYC’s Panorama, and Outside Lands to all look forward to. And if what we’ve seen is any sign, we’re in for a dope summer.
