Right off the coast of Finland lays an island with sand as white as snow.
A place where relaxation is culture, where yoga is assimilated through the bikini-clad women rising with the morning sun.
But the best part of the island? The best part is the revitalization process.
And trust that you will come out very, very relaxed. Because on this island, only women are allowed.
SuperShe Island was bought by consultant Kristina Roth who was inspired by her previous vacations on her Malibu Ranch in California. Prior to purchasing the now resort location, she had launched her SuperShe network, which birthed community-based relationships.
“SuperShe events bring together dynamic women in a setting like no other. With the goal of becoming better versions of ourselves- the event sets out to make that happen. Days at a SuperShe event are filled with sun, surf, clean eating, and fitness. Set in exclusively pristine settings, the events also aim to help you relax and leave feeling refreshed.”
In an interview with The New York Post she explained just where inspiration for the idea derived from.
“When there was a cute guy, women would put on lipstick. The idea [at SuperShe island] is, hey, focus on yourself — don’t try to get your hormones up.”
I know what you’re probably thinking: Why Finland? The ironic reasoning is that although this became a woman-only retreat, Roth fell in love with a local on the island, her now boyfriend.
“His parents own an island on the archipelago, and he kept telling me, the island next door is for sale. I said, I’m not interested, I just bought a beautiful piece of land in Turks and Caicos — I’m really not interested.”
I know, I know. I’m dying to go, too. The island should be open to all women sometime soon, but as of right now, it’s limited to Roth’s network.
If you’re thinking about joining, head over to SuperShe’s site and get on that!
