Pharrell Williams is using his hip-hop and fashion influence in collaboration with G-Star RAW to give endangered animals a voice.
Trend Setter P, who is G-Star’s “Head of Imagination,” dropped some serious trends with his Elwoodx25 Collection, which includes 25 unique prints.
The collection is a myriad of camouflages, stripes, and checkered patterns.
So where do the endangered species come into play? Patterns inspired by the White Bengal Tiger, the African Wild Dog, the Bumble Bee Poison Frog, and much more were also printed onto jeans and sweaters.
The denim pants are definitely not light on the eyes, but that’s exactly what Pharrell is trying to do – start a conversation.
Imagine walking down the street wearing a poison dart frog pattern print jean. Someone has to ask “Where’d you cop those?”

What made the Elwoodx25 debut even better? Skateboard P unveiled the Spring/Summer ’18 collection during NYFW at a launch party which turned G-Star’s Chelsea store into a ’50s-era laundromat.
Plus, the homies Jaden Smith, Desiigner, Dave East, Black Thought, and Dram pulled up to show support. i-D also reported Joey Bada$$ was in the mix somewhere.

This Spring/Summer ’18 collection marks Pharrell’s second G-Star Elwood X25 drop with the denim brand.
The collection is the definition of different. This time around, Williams really wanted to focus on individuality and unique creations.
Pharrell explained the distinct designs of the denim pants to Vogue,
“The idea that we could take one of their classic items and give it a different color and patterns and introduce different prints to it,” said Williams, “that’s the magic in it.”
He continued to express the importance of individuality, “Do what you want. That’s the thing about individuality. There’s not one answer.”
Straight vibes from this collection definitely a must-cop!
