Photo recap: Ebro in the Morning shakes up NYC with Friends And Family show

Hot 97 recently threw a show to be closer to their fans on February 22, 2018 at Playstation Theater in the heart of Times Square.

Ebro and Laura Styles brought out all of the homies and I had the opportunity to be there live in person and take some shots.

The performances started with DJ Kast One warming up the crowd with recent and throwback hip-hop and R&B jams to set the mood.

Cyhi The Prynce opened up the show with a quick 15 minute set with a few songs and kicked a freestyle for the hip-hop fans in the crowd before the show went to the reggae portion of the night.

The Reggae section started with Hood Celebrity playing a few selects hits to her fans. Stefflon Don was welcomed onto the stage by Laura Styles and Megan Ryte.

Stefflon Don, who hails from London, received a huge amount of love from the fans in the room.

She performed past and new songs but what made her fans go over the top was when she performed “Hurtin’ Me” and “16 Shots”.

During her last song, she invited friends and a few fans from the crowd to end the set with her.

Last act of the night was welcomed by the whole Ebro in the Morning team.

Damian Marley was as amazing as expected. His whole set had a Lion of Judah flag waving back and forth during each song and no one could keep their eyes off Damian Marley, from his jumping up and down on stage to his swinging dreads that reached past his knees while reciting all of his hits.

During “Road to Zion”, fans put out their lighters and cell phones and sang along. To end the night, Damian Marley thanked the Ebro in the Morning team and performed his classic “Welcome to Jamrock” to end the night.
