Who is SahBabii? The ‘Pull Up With Ah Stick’ rapper starting a movement with his fam

Saaheem Valdery, also known by the rap name SahBabii, is a 22-year-old rapper from Chicago that has risen within the ranks with his hit “Pull Up With Ah Stick.” His hit song literally blew up overnight as millions of people were posting themselves singing along to the song on social media.

The music video for the track currently has 37 million views on YouTube and counting. It’ received such a positive response that Young Thug ended up reaching out to SahBabii and ended up flying him out to London a week later while he was on tour with Drake.

This led to Young Thug remixing “Pull Up With a Stick” which was has garnered around 1.5 million views. SahBabii even had T-Pain and Fetty Wap remix his song too.

SahBabii is originally from the Wentworth Gardens projects in southside of Chicago but his family ended up moving to Atlanta’s Ninth Ward in 2010 when he was only 13. Many young kids in the neighborhood that he was from had began pursuing rap seriously at the time and that inspired him to start his own movement.

It was there in Atlanta that his creative spark was found and his interest for music peaked. His brother, who is known as T3, had been creating music for over 11 years and he served as SahBabii’s musical influence and his mentor. He also engineered and produces most of Sah’s songs. Hell he’s even featured on them.

SahBabii does not practice any religion, but he says that he currently seeks knowledge. Sah is known for starting his own movement called Unknownism, which means to “seek the truth in everything that you are doing.”

Uknownism is represented with an upside down cross that has a 6 on 3 sides of the cross. Each side stands for six protons, six electrons, and six neutrons which is what makes carbon and carbon helps produce melanin.

SahBabii originally learned about this  from his Uncle Gary who is a Freemason. He is now very stout believer in Uknownism and even got a tattoo of an upside down cross with three sixes on the tap part of the cross. He’s received a lot of backlash for his beliefs from the general public.

Lil Uzi Vert has also received backlash as well for having upside down crosses on stage and creating songs like “444+222 = 666”.

Sah and Uzi got into a bit of a Instagram spat with Offset from Migos saying “Stop all that demon worshipping 666 shit stand with God”.

Eventually the whole situation cooled off and SahBabii deleted his posts against the Migos to keep things positive on his Instagram.

The Chicago rapper has also talked about the tolls of trying to make it in the industry and how before he made “Pull Up With Ah Stick.”

He was suffering from depression because his music was nowhere near what he wanted it to be, to the point where his hair was falling out.

Fortunately, he eventually was able to overcome the rut he was in by staying positive and working constantly. In a interview he said,

“Keep going and don’t get caught up in the materialism where you see people flashing the money and stuff like that on Instagram because it can make you suicidal and angry. Just stay positive.”

SahBabii is constantly pushing a positive vibe and you can hear even in his music. “Pull Up With Ah Stick” has a catchy, upbeat tempo and he dropped a song called “Marsupial Superstars” featuring his brother T3 which depicts it perfectly.

The video has close to 600,000 views and he recently released the music video for it and is absolutely crazy, from the visuals, and the crazy edits. He has recently released an album called S.A.N.D.A.S and has plans to go on tour later this year.

Despite all of the fame SahBabii has not switched up on the people that got him to the position he is in now. He even stated in an interview “I still record in my brothers room”. SahBabii currently lives with his father, mother, and brother.

They whole family operates like a well-oiled machine. Everyone knows their role and they do not overstep each other. T3 stated in a FADER documentary,

“We most definitely operate like a family business. My dad is like the visionary he is also the manager, my mom is more administrative like, sending out emails, looking things up. Me, I’m more like the workhorse, I’m the get it done guy and then Sah is the artist.”

SahBabii has a solid team around him. There’s no telling how far he could go.
