Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the iPhone 1’s release.

It was a momentous occasion when Apple came out with a phone that featured an iPod, email, and seamless internet access. The whole world was hype.

People waited outside of AT&T and Apple stores for hours, sometimes days, hoping to get their hands on one. We were heading towards the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression but Americans still had the bread to buy an iPhone.

We were relegated to using a Sidekicks, Razors, or one of the original Blackberries. Everyone’s pockets were a little bit bulkier when you had to carry around an iPod and a phone.

The iPhone changed the way we communicate, influenced pop culture, and became one the most iconic items of all time.
