“He told me just to never compromise for anything, stick to being who I am.”
Regardless of what the haters say, DaniLeigh’s #LeviHighChallenge encapsulates everything we need right now. Positivity. Hot artistry. And just the right amount of draw.
But just as popping as this challenge is, so is the artist behind it. Dani’s dancing infused with her clever lyricism and creative eye make her a triple threat.
“Levi high jeans, sittin’ right, keep that ass up,” DaniLeigh sings in the chorus for her new video with Dababy. “Instagram flex, basic hoes gettin’ gassed up,” she continues.
Still, this hot track came with an even greater moment: the Levi High Challenge, where DaniLeigh has pushed all genders to keep that ass up in a pair of their favorite Levi Jeans.

This message of showing love and positivity to each other is paramount right now.
Especially for those who are so often shown specific body types in the media and told by society the parameters for what is sexy.
But Dani has always had that. A want to make an impact. For a 2019 High Snobiety interview she said,
“If I’m doing music, it’s to lead the top and really make an impact in people’s lives.”
Maybe it’s her strong embrace of heritage.

Her Dominican roots have always stuck with her and were an inspiration as she found her sound and started making music in her adolescent years.
“I was raised in a big Dominican family and we would have all these parties with meringue and bachata so that just kind of flows through my blood,” said DaniLeigh.
Maybe it’s her mindset

DaniLeigh, real name Danielle Leigh Curiel, took up dancing when she was 12-years-old, following in her mother’s footsteps.
Then at 18, Prince would request her to direct his “Breakfast Can Wait” music video. What’d she takeaway from working with the late great?
“He told me just to never compromise for anything, stick to being who I am.”
A couple of years later, DaniLeigh released her first single in 2016, titled “D.O.S.E.” Her next track, “Play” ft Kap G, explored empowerment for women and Latinas.
DaniLeigh’s status in the music industry is all at once that of a rising star, a solidified popping artist, and an advocate for diversity, women, and Latinas. She told Harpers Bazaar,
“I feel like in my life I have a plan, and I feel like my plan is to be an inspiration to people in the world, be motivational, be a light to the world.”
Her latest campaign-of-sorts, the #LeviHighChallenge, is everything we need when negativity inundates the airways. Women supporting women. Unabashed confidence.
A new and inventive trend that is an escape from a disheartening reality.
DaniLeigh is still just scratching the surface of what she is capable of. The multifaceted artist has shown that her repertoire stretches far beyond just singing.
The #LeviHighChallenge is the latest example of her artistry. But it surely isn’t the last.
