Gal Gadot made headlines earlier this year, breaking out into the spotlight as the perfect Wonder Woman.
The film grossed over $820 million, and gave Gadot her first true break in Hollywood. However, not even the title of Wonder Woman can justify Brett Ratner’s accused actions.
Now, Gadot is threatening not to take on her role as the female superhero for the 2019 release of Wonder Woman 2, due to recent accusations against the filmmaker.
Earlier this month, six women accused the moviemaker of sexual harassment and misconduct.
When the news first hit, Ratner released a statement to Deadline, saying he was
“Choosing to personally step away from all Warner Bros.- related activities. I don’t want to have any possible negative impact to the studio until these personal issues are resolved.”
Fellow actress Olivia Munn even spoke against Ratner, saying he masturbated in front of her in 2004 on the set of After the Sunset.
The LA Times reported that Munn “wrote about the incident in her 2010 collection of essays without naming Ratner.”

“It feels as if I keep going up against the same bully at school who just won’t quit,” Munn is quoted by the LA Times.
Now, Gadot is standing her ground against sexual harassment culture, by joining the many women revolting against the recent cases that have been exposed.
According to Refinery 29, Gadot didn’t attend a dinner that was meant to honor Ratner and present him with an award, just before the news hit.
As reported by the Inquirer, Gadot’s statements regarding Ratner were pretty straight forward,
“This behavior should be condemned. It is unacceptable and shouldn’t be tolerated.”
Since the accusations have come out, Warner Brothers and Ratner no longer have any ties with one another. A Warner Brothers source tells Page Six,
“Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.”
Gadot is known for her strong stances, standing up for what she believes in often. The anonymous source continues,
“She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.”
