‘Honor Up’, film produced by Dame Dash and Kanye West, coming in February

Back in 2015, Dame Dash released a trailer for a film titled Too Honorable, an apparent crime drama with a star-studded cast of actors and musicians.

No release date was scheduled and all went rather quiet on the Too Honorable front for a couple years.

That is until last night when Dame Dash shared the poster for the film, now titled Honor Up on Instagram.

Dame wrote that Honor Up will hit theaters in February and tagged a grip of rappers and actors that has us clamoring to know more.

There’s also some intrigue behind the camera, with Kanye West slated as an executive producer on the film.

This will be Dame Dash’s first directorial effort on a major feature film since 2005’s State Property: Blood On the Streets.

The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder has moved in the film sphere for awhile now (besides slapping Harvey Weinstein), branching out from his beginnings as a music executive with production credits on the legendary Paid in Full and documentaries like Kanye West: College Dropout and This is Jim Jones.

As for Honor Up, Dame will also act in the film, alongside rappers Cam’ron, Styles P, Smoke DZA, and Murda Mook.

Some reputable actors also are set to star in Honor Up, including Nicholas Turturro, Michael Rispoli, and Dame’s cousin Stacey Dash (filming presumably started before Stacey Dash started caping for Fox News, but that’s neither here nor there).

There’s not much information about the actual plot of Honor Up, but gathering from the trailer it looks like a gritty crime drama set in New York City.

I’m intrigued. With Dame and Kanye producing the film, you know it’s going to be the most extra. We’ll be looking out for any updates.
