Beat the retrograde at Moonrise Fest with some unforgettable performances

With Mercury Retrograde finally coming to an end on August 19th, there really is no better way to celebrate than getting down — or rather, going up — this weekend at the Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, MD.

This “Coachella” of the mid-Atlantic, which started back in 2014, has brought in stellar artists like Bassnectar, Tiesto, The Chainsmokers, and Pretty Lights. The lineup and outfits are predicted to be out-of-this-world, an escape we all need to see happen in 2018.

From hard-hitting dubstep to uplifting house, EDM’s biggest names like Diplo, Marshmello, DJ Snake, and Cashmere Cat, and many others will be spreading their magic.

Dozens of dance music’s top artists are set to create a universe of thrills across four cosmically-named stages at the horse racetrack–Stellar, Lunar, Celestial, and the Solar Tent.

Though EDM takes center stage, the lineup covers a genre multiverse. From Hip-Hop talents A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Vince Staples to genre-benders like Rezz and Liquid Stranger, and even to the dream pop vibes of Phantogram, Moonrise is sure to please.

To top it all off, the festival’s planners are providing the #Mooncrew with a foolproof way to get there, stay there, and get back. They offer shuttle rides from D.C., discounted hotels, and a cool space-themed, augmented reality app that features fest essentials, including food, vendors, and performance schedules.

It almost seems like the organizers have anticipated the retrograde, which affects travel and communication in particular.

Last year at Moonrise, a thunderstorm led to a temporary evacuation of the festival grounds. Surprisingly, it didn’t stop the show or the Mooncrew — it brought them closer in a shared, muddy euphoria.

Among the star-studded acts, this year you can expect to see electrifying dancers, costumes, art installations, and an illuminated Ferris wheel.

While we can never truly know the future, the forecast says it’s gonna be a heck of a good time so grab your tickets while they’re still here.
