The BET Awards was wild. Here’s the most ratchet shit you missed

The 2017 BET Awards Show was lit af. This year the awards show took place in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater.

There was a lot of beef surrounding the event including Meek Mill’s crew jumping Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, at a pre-party at DJ Khaled’s penthouse, ASAP Rocky getting into a scuffle at 1 OAK, and Joe Budden almost getting duffed out by Migos during a Complex interview.

There’s more!

Apparently Chris Brown squared up with Migos, Remy Ma had a couple bars for her arch nemesis Nicki Minaj, and Ralph Tresvant of New Edition looked like that washed up uncle at the family function.

Never thought I would say this but good lookin’ TMZ.

The homie ASAP Rocky was just celebrating Kendrick Lamar’s birthday when all of sudden… a fight broke out?

Really felt like DJ Akademiks was trolling Takeoff and Joe Budden walking off was just the cherry on top

Damn. We’ll never forget the 2017 BET Awards Show, or at least the drama. This one was definitely something for the books.

Let us know what you think of all drama.

Chance the Rapper becomes youngest artist to win BET Humanitarian Award

This year’s BET Awards proved to be one hell of a spectacle. Not only were there amazing performances, but there were also amazing beefs.

Migos almost rockin’ the shit out of Joe Budden had me dead. Meek Mill even managed to pop up in the news after his crew jumped Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, outside of DJ Khaled’s pre-show party.

But, the biggest highlight of them all was Chance the Rapper being the youngest person to ever receive the Humanitarian Award. He received the award for using his craft to uplift his community.

It was a big night for the Chitown rapper as he took home Best New Artist earlier in the night and was also nominated for Album of the Year, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, and Best Collaboration.

At only 24-years-old, Chance has managed to do so much for Chicago. He started Social Works, an NPO, that focuses on empowering the youth of Chicago using the arts, education, and civic engagement.

Chance has managed to raise $2 million through his NPO for public schools in Chicago. Plus, he donated $1 million of his own earnings to support the cause.

Past winners of the award include Quincy Jones, Muhammad Ali, and Dwayne Wade. Before accepting an award, Chance received an intro from Chairman and CEO of BET, Debra L. Lee.

Nothing but kind words from Lee,

“Tonight we honor a young man from the Chi and honestly I love everything about him. He created his own path to the charts and took that same creativity to help children. He’s not afraid to speak out for people who can’t speak for themselves.”

Michelle Obama also pulled up with a surprise introduction and had some powerful things to say about Chance.

Chance took the BET Awards Show stage gracing viewers with an acceptance speech that challenged the Chicago public school systems, judges, and the criminal justice system to make some drastic changes.

The Coloring Book artist also thanked God, Black people, and his mama, who was in attendance.
