Taco Bell is flexing by giving their employees the education they deserve

Taco Bell’s 210,000 employees won’t just have to focus on filling burritos anymore.

The fast-food giant has partnered with Guild Education in an effort to offer schooling benefits across their entire system.

It’s looking very lit for fast food employees. Earlier this year we found out that In-N-Out gives its managers a $160,000 salary with no college degree.

Now, Taco Bell employees will have access to personalized college advisors and tuition discounts for thousands of classes, certificates and degrees from day one of their careers, according to a press release.

The gifts of education come at the employee’s request. According to Taco Bell’s Global Chief People Officer, Frank Tucker,

“When we surveyed our employees, education support was one of the top three things they asked for.”

Taco Bell’s partnership with Guild allowed the fast food giant to “break barriers” and come up with a curriculum that was cost-effective, time-efficient, and academically sound.

The package? All Taco Bell employees, corporate and franchise, will be granted access to the fire educational content.

This includes Guild’s academic advisors, financial aid coaches, and discounts to Guild’s education partners. Lest we mention Guild’s network of 80 online non-profit universities and learning providers that offer Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

Hold up. So, what about the dough to help Taco Bell employees pay for all of this? The fast-food chain’s taco flippers will have access to $5,250 every year in tuition assistance.

Books and supplies will also be paid upfront and Taco Bell employees can receive college credit for on the job training saving each employee an additional five bands.

How does it feel to get your education sparked by a taco franchise? Pretty damn good.

The franchise plans to grow with their new found belief in educating their employees.

Taco Bell partnered with Guild back in 2017 where they started inspiring employees to take the higher road and obtain an education that would only better them.

Since then more than 2,000 Taco Bell employees have worked with a Guild coach to go back to school. In fact, there was 98 percent retention rate over the course of six months. This was a 34 percent increase over employees not enrolled, according to the press release.

The retention rate and increase will only help as Taco Bell plans to create 100,000 new jobs in the US by 2022 and in 2018 the taco giant plans to open more than 250 restaurants.

Now we see the need for them to attract and retain top talent. Taco Bell is lowkey trying to go global and Guild is about it.

Peep what Guild Education CEO Rachel Carlson said:

“Taco Bell’s ‘Start With Us, Stay With Us’ philosophy aligns perfectly with Guild’s value of giving employees education pathways to advance their careers – both at Taco Bell and beyond in future roles. We’re delighted to help each Taco Bell employee find the right university or program to pursue their education, and our team at Guild will be with them every step of the way as they pursue their academic and career goals.”

I’m definitely down to start with Taco Bell and stay with Taco Bell. They’ve been in the education sphere for some time now.

This Guild partnership is only a bonus to the franchise’s other educational offerings like their Live Más Scholarship and GED programs.

Listen, for those of you looking for a way out this could be the wave. This is a corporation that’s down to support you no matter where you are on your education journey.

Ayye! Taco Bell everywhere.
