Netflix is making weed strains for 10 of their shows at dispensary pop up
In honor of its new show Disjointed, Netflix is cheffing up individual weed strains for 10 of its original series.
Disjointed, which was released on Friday, depicts the journey of a woman trying to open her own marijuana dispensary. As part of a promotional pop up shop in West Hollywood, Netflix is making strains that embody their different shows.
According to a press release obtained by Variety, the strains were crafted for their shows very scientifically,
“Each strain was cultivated with the specific shows in mind, designed to complement each title based on their tone. For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate.”
So what weed represents your favorite Netflix show? Here’s a sample of the strains on show according to Variety:
“Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later gave rise to the Camp Firewood strain, ‘a very chill indica.’ Bojack Horseman can be viewed while partaking in Prickly Muffin: ‘When you smoke this, it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day.’ Arrested Development inspired Banana Stand Kush, recommended for a ‘big yellow joint,’ and Chelsea birthed Vodkush, for the ‘advanced botanist.’”
This is a pretty ingenious promotional idea from Netflix, but they’ll obviously have some restrictions what with the whole “marijuana is illegal” thing.
The pop up will run Friday to Sunday at Alternative Health Herbal Services and is available to anyone with a medical marijuana card.
Netflix was also sure to note that they will not be profiting off the sale of the marijuana strains and that the pop up is for promotional use only.
Here’s a casual reminder that despite the fact that Netflix can do cute shit like this, people are still getting arrested all over the country for possessing marijuana.
We should probably straighten that whole thing out… I don’t know.
Anyways, if you’re in the LA area with that medical card on you, definitely worth taking a peak at this pop up.
