Kim Kardashian getting butt ass naked ain’t news, it’s genius marketing

On Sunday, while everyone else was tuned into the 60th annual Grammys, somewhere, in an unknown location, a certain Kim Kardashian West laid perching, with sniper-like patience, waiting on the most opportune moment to pounce.

The Grammys were typical. A late night talkshow host cracked jokes, a no-name won Best New Artist, and hip-hop was deemed not good enough to win Album of The Year.

But Kim Kardashian knew this Sunday was special. She knew the entertainment industry and all its star power would be focused on one place, that it was Sunday and no one had anywhere to go or do.

Then, out of nowhere, right dab smack in the middle of Twitter debating where Beyonce’s outfit ranked in her all-time collection, Kim Kardashian drops a pic of her in a g-string.

BO WEST

I’m sure it was a mixture of crediting her African-American hair style to a white woman, calling them “Bo Derek braids”, and showing the world her intimacies, but either way it was a success — the media assassin secured another hit. All eyes were on her.

This is all customary. It’s textbook Kim Kardashian. This is right out the Kris Jenner playbook.

The woman who was first brought to social consciousness from a sex tape, has, throughout her career, tripled down on her blueprint for success — controversy and sex appeal. And thanks to claims of sexual empowerment and liberation, her actions become infallible.

Which is why she’s teflon whenever the general public does try and turn on her.

American television personality, Tami Roman, who first gained fame on The Real World: Los Angeles, had some choice words. “Maybe you’re just doing what you know how to do, the only the you know how to do, how you got in the business, but we’re pass that now, sis,” she ranted on her Instagram.

Similarly, Wendy Williams, went on her show The Wendy Williams Show today, that following Monday to pitch in her two cents:

“Kim, you know what? It’s clear that Kanye has nothing for you except dribble and feeble conversation. It is clear that Kanye does not pay attention to you. It’s clear to me that you are desperate, desperately trying to stay in the spotlight.”

She continued,

“There is no man—I mean, Kanye makes money. Kim makes more. Why are you still doing this? It’s not even about the mother thing. Forget the mother thing. You’re a mother. A lot of people would say she’s a mother. It’s about, she doesn’t have to do that anymore.”

In response to the backlash Kim responded appropriately: by dropping more, way sexier, photos on the gram. One of the photos in particular seemed to address her haters. It pictured Kim on the phone, ordering “zero fucks.”

Hi, can I get zero fucks please, thanks

I know the average attention span has decreased dramatically over the years, but surely we can recognize a trend when we see one.

Today, as the embers from her cultural appropriating braids and her photos still cook, Kanye conveniently unleashes a cast of social media influencers and celebs, including Paris Hilton, to rock Yeezy Season 6 looks for this year’s Fashion Week.

Coincidence? I think not.

If anything, it’s akin to 2016, when, after Kanye released The Life of Pablo in mid February, Kim dropped some nudes a couples week later in early March — subsequently, the same month Charlotte Tilbury revealed their Kim Kardashian lipstick, named Kim K.W.

I’m not saying the nudes helped, but they sure didn’t hurt.

The truth of the matter is that we’re not mad at Kim’s nudity as a mother; Amber Rose, who is also a mom, was literally dressed up as ‘Captain Save a Hoe’ at last years Slut Walk.

We’re not mad that she’s wearing braids; it’s nothing Khloe and Kylie haven’t already sported. We’re mad that it’s Kim, her demand of attention, and that she’s able to continually pull it off.

We hate when Kim Kardashian takes her clothes off because we know the inevitable is is going to come shortly after — media frenzy and a product push. We hate that we see it coming, yet we fall for it every time.

Kim Kardashian is a marketing savant. She has every media outlet eating out her palms and with Kanye as her spouse, it’s almost too easy.

Naked Kim Kardashian is not news, yet it will always inevitably become just that.
