Kid Cudi had a rough 2016 but 2017 is looking much better for the rapper as he has announced that he will be going on tour and is apparently releasing a secret project with Kanye West.
Last October Scott Mescudi took to Facebook to describe his deep depression and personal emotional ailments. I’m guessing all went well in rehab as the “Day and Night” artist did end up performing at Complexcon the following month.
Prior to checking himself into rehab last year, Kid Cudi also had some beef with mentor Kanye West. Cudi called out Ye in a Twitter rant suggesting that “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great,” he tweeted. “Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them.”
Cudi also added, “The fake ones won’t be lasting too much longer.” Kanye and Cudi went tit for tat as Ye then stopped his “I Don’t Like” performance in Tampa, Florida on his Saint Pablo tour, to address the disrespect on his name.
“Don’t You Ever Mention Ye name, I birthed you.”

It seems as if the beef is over as the two artists have made amends and are now working on the project that is so top secret no one is in the studio but Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and the studio engineer.
According to Page Six, an inside source said, “nobody knows what it is — or what it sounds like… There are no professionals in the room. It’s just Cudi, Kanye and an engineer. They’re recording together in Japan.”
Wait a minute, Cudi and Kanye are making a top-secret project in Japan? According to the inside source, no one will know when the project is due to drop but they are working on it as we speak, “they’re going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue…” The source added, “They’re going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They’re recording it now.”
Hopefully the project is what we expect it to be — straight heat. Cudi and Ye fans everywhere will be anxiously wondering who will be featured on the project and what it will sound like.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll hear some exclusive previews on Kid Cudi’s newly announced Passion, Pain, and Demon Slayin tour that will be hitting the road this fall.
