Joey Bada$$ forced to cancel tour after burning eyes from looking at eclipse
Seems as if Joey Bada$$ might have to make a name change to Joey Wonder.
After watching the solar eclipse that took place earlier this week, the Brooklyn rapper took to Twitter cancelling a grip of shows on Logic’s Everybody Tour, “Due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Although there were countless warnings from astronomers and news sources to not look into the eclipse, BadA$$ didn’t heed. Looking for validation he questioned his followers on Twitter, he asked “Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses?”

Joey then went on to validate his sun gazing via Twitter stating “pretty sure our ancestors ain’t have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain’t all go blind.”

As many know, watching a solar eclipse without any protective gear is extremely dangerous. Actually, glazing at the sun for too long during any of its celestial phases is just straight-up stupid.
But no worry Joey, going completely blind from staring at a solar eclipse is an overstatement. According to Live Science,
The light of an eclipse really can damage your eyes — though warnings of total blindness may be overstated. The condition is called solar retinopathy, and it occurs when bright light from the sun floods the retina on the back of the eyeball. The retina is home to the light-sensing cells that make vision possible. When they’re over-stimulated by sunlight, they release a flood of communication chemicals that can damage the retina. This damage is often painless, so people don’t realize what they’re doing to their vision.
