Gigi Hadid isn’t in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in China after being wild racist
Gigi Hadid has swept the modeling industry by storm, walked the biggest runway shows in the world and became a Victoria Secret angel faster than I can say “Victoria Secret Angel.”
However she won’t be walking in Victoria Secret’s Chinese fashion show this year for some very peculiar reasons.
While a few rumors have popped up on the internet as to why, the one that sticks out the most is that Gigi openly disrespected the Asian community.
On her Twitter, Gigi has said that she “won’t be able to make it to China this year,” but gave no further explanation as to why.

Earlier this year, Gigi had a video posted of her holding a little Buddah head and squinting alongside it.

Now, Twitter, as well as the rest of the internet, is going crazy with theories.

The model then went on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, to write an apology for what she’d done, and how much it hurt the community around her, saying she’s learned her lesson.
“It hurts me to hurt anyone, and I want you all to know that it was never my intent to offend anyone through my actions and I sincerely apologise to those who were hurt or felt let down by me.
“I have the utmost respect and love for the people of China and cherish the incredible memories I have made while visiting in the past. I have learned to be very careful of how my actions can come off or be portrayed and I’m hopeful you’ll accept my apology.
“I hope to meet many of you and let you get to know me for me. I do not condone hurtful behaviour and want people and fans of all backgrounds to know they are welcomed, loved and respected around me and by me.”

Whether Gigi meant to disrespect or not, the popular opinion is that China just doesn’t want her there.
There’s always next year, Gigi! In the meantime, maybe don’t be racist.
