Fair or foul? Offset announces new album with clips of Cardi B pregnancy
This past weekend was a big one in the world of music.
Saturday Hov and company held it’s annual highly coveted Tidal pre-Grammy brunch, Sunday the 61st Grammy awards took place, and shortly after Offset finally announced the release date of his upcoming album and that there will be a doc along the project as well.
To be honest, Offset’s album isn’t the real news. In fact, he’s been teasing his album for a while and he should have released the title some time ago now.
The reason why Offset’s announcement made a splash was that the album promo features his wife — the newly Grammy-award-winner and hottest thing in hip-hop — Cardi B giving birth.
Cardi and Offset are married and they have a child together. So, previewing such intimacies are not only his right, but he most likely had the permission of Cardi herself.
However many are finding the move foul.
Offset moving real weird b. How you drop your album roll out on your wife's big night ….

Offset's constant centering of himself during Cardi's biggest moments is complete trash and I need people to stop cheering him on and I need people to stop cheering on people who don't respect the boundaries of others. It's not romantic, and that is not healthy love.

The thing is, Offset hasn’t been the most faithful. In fact, he hasn’t been the least faithful either. Since Cardi B and Offset got together in 2017 it’s been one cheating scandal after another, constantly making the biggest star on the planet look silly.
The fact that Cardi is literally the people’s champ doesn’t help. This past Dec. Cardi’s fans were elated for her to announce that the two had split, prompting Offset to infamously tweet “Y’all won.”
And every effort he’s made to win her back looks like he’s cramping her style. In December last year, Offset got on his Instagram to tell Cardi (and his nearly 10 million followers) that she’s all he wants for Christmas.
“I want to apologize to you, Cardi. I know I embarrassed you,” he said. “I love you and Kulture. I want to spend Christmas with you. I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Shortly after, Offset infamously crashed her set at Rolling Loud, wheeled out massive bouquets of roses and begged for forgiveness.
Now that he’s walking beside her during her biggest moment professionally and using Cardi’s pregnancy for his album the optics look bad, even though she obviously approves.
So is using the footage foul? Definitely not. Only Cardi B and Offset can define the parameters of their relationship and if she finds it okay then it is okay.

Offset’s new album will mark the third solo album from a member of Migos, following QUAVO HUNCHO and Takeoff’s The Last Rocket. This will be Offset’s debut solo album and first work since his 2017 collaborated project Without Warning with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin and his 2018 Culture II LP.
Cardi took home Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy, making her the first single solo female rap artists to reach that feat. At the end of the day, Cardi B and Offset are married and thus business partners.
You’d be lying if you said they weren’t doing it well.
