Drake just shattered the single day streaming record with ‘God’s Plan’

Fuckin’ Drake, man.

After being all extra on the gram for weeks, Drake dropped two new tracks “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity” this weekend, packaged under the Scary Hours EP title.

“Diplomatic Immunity” features Drake trying to imitate 2003 Jay-Z boss guy flow over a loungy string instrumental and “God’s Plan” is perfect Instagram caption fodder.

“God’s Plan” has now broken the record for streams in a day, with 4,326,679 streams on Monday (Jan. 22). This is the latest in a long line of Drizzy streaming records.

He was the most streamed artist in back to back years in 2015 and 2016. His Summer Sixteen tour with Future was the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of all-time.

Then he became the first artist to amass 10 billion total streams.

Shit is, fuckin’ ridiculous *Swizz voice*.

So, continuing his extra ass behavior, Drake went on Instagram to compare his own accomplishment to that of LeBron James scoring his 30,000 career point last night.

Congrats King. Samesies.

Drake then went on LeBron’s Uninterrupted and passed along a message of mutual congratulations to himself and LeBron.

Drizzy said,

“Seems like every time we look up, you’re setting another milestone or breaking another record and I always tell you that you’re one of the most inspirational people in my life. Every time you do something like this I always try to get in the studio and make the song that would go with the moment.”

Then Drake pulled out a bottle of wine, a 1961 Petrus (around $6,000-$25,000 according to Billboard) and proceeded to “accidentally” drop it on the floor, shattering the bottle.

Shoutout to Drizzy for reminding us we’re all some broke boys as he flippantly breaks a bottle of wine that’s more than my whole life.

We already know there’s a Drake project around the corner, we’ll see what records he can take on next.
