Why Meek Mill’s battle with The Cosmopolitan hotel is all about race

Life is all about picking your battles. Not every offense is worth taking arms and, conversely, you’re not always going to be in the mood to call the dogs off. With that being said, Meek Mill has every right to go the distance with his newest foe: The Cosmopolitan hotel of Las Vegas.

This past weekend, the Philadelphia rapper accused the Las Vegas Cosmopolitan of racial discrimination after being told he was not allowed in to enter the building.

As you can imagine — being a star of his caliber and an eager customer all the same — Meek was bewildered, and uploaded footage of the tense back and forth between the hotel and casino’s security who informed the artist he was not allowed inside the building.

Of course, if he attempted to enter, he would risk being arrested and violating his parole. In the video, you can hear Meek continue to ask why he wasn’t allowed to enter but was plainly told,

“We have the right to do that.”

In response, the Cosmopolitan Hotel has staunchly denied the accusations, maintaining that Meek was turned away because they were at capacity, not because he was Black and a rapper.

“Marquee Dayclub had reached capacity per Las Vegas Fire Marshall code. Earlier that day, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police had been called onsite to manage a larger than usual venue crowd,” the Cosmo told TMZ in a statement.

But the Dreams and Nightmares rapper wasn’t having it.

Meek has since called for a “cultural ban” of the Cosmo, urging black stars to combine forces to blackball the hotel. In response, he’s had the likes of Yo Gotti, 50 Cent, T.I. and more make statements speaking against the hotel.

Meek is reportedly also planning to file a lawsuit this week against Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan Hotel on counts of directing him to leave the premises and threatening to arrest him.

Meek’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, tells TMZ he will seek “heavy monetary damages” from the hotel for “lying and humiliating Meek,” saying, “I’m going to take this place down because of what they did.”

Tacopina also attains that there’s a list of Black rappers who aren’t welcome in a group of Vegas hotels. While the Cosmo dismisses the assertion, Tacopina has revealed that Yo Gotti and BlocBoy JB have also claimed other Vegas hotels deny them entrance since they’re Black rappers.

In a statement provided to Complex, Yo Gotti said,

“Unfortunately, I’ve experienced similar discrimination at the Cosmopolitan and other Vegas hotels. It’s a disgrace that these establishments continue to judge us by the color of our skin and our professions instead of recognizing our artistry and dedication to our communities. I stand with Meek Mill and all my peers in the hip-hop community that have been disrespected by places like the Cosmopolitan.”

Now, on the surface, the dispute may appear below Meek. He’s a millionaire; he doesn’t live in Vegas; they’re not Black-owned nor is someplace worth spending your money at anyway — what’s the purpose?

https://twitter.com/MeekMill/status/1133250083418464256

And the answer to that is principal.

Over the past decade, Meek Mill has been fighting the justice system due to a wrongful conviction as a teenager and a crooked judge. He’s been humiliated, taken advantage of and not given a shot, despite his success, due to discriminatory practices.

If there ever was an individual to stick up for himself or time, it’s Meek Mill and it’s right now.

For other rappers, this isn’t the hill to die on. Their answer is as simple of going to a different hotel or spending their money elsewhere. Meek is not so lucky. He didn’t pick this restorative justice life, it chose him.

While the Cosmopolitan is sticking to their tune that they promote “zero tolerance for discrimination,” they should know that Meek isn’t just any rapper, but a rapper who ready to fight for how he deserves to be treated.

FOH: Dote shopping app discriminates against influencers of color

Racism poisons everything, including new industries like YouTube.

One of the millennial dream jobs is being an influencer on YouTube, where companies fight to have you represent their brand through sponsorships, free products, and all expense paid trips.

One of these companies is Dote. Dote is neck deep in controversy for their treatment of YouTubers and influencers of color.

Dote is a shopping app that lets you shop entire outfits hailing from different brands, all in one cart. The app also has some social features including followers and outfit creators.

The company is known for taking YouTubers and influencers on amazing trips where photographers take photos of them having fun and using those images as promotion for the app.

These “Dote girls” are often white, cis, conventionally thin young girls. In recent trips Dote invited some girls and women of color to go on these trips and they were treated with the utmost respect just like Becky, Katie, Caitlin and Kaitlin, and Kaitlyn…

Oh, wait, no they weren’t.

According to YouTuber Vereena Sayed and Keisha Shade (aka ItzKeisha), on one of the more “diverse” Dote girl trips to Coachella, Dote grouped the girls of color together on one side of the house and the white girls were on the other side of the house.

Guess who got the nice amenities with queen-sized beds and lovely furniture and three bathrooms and who got a makeshift set of couches to sleep on with a stingy coffee table and one bathroom to share amongst five to six people?

Dote really segregated the girls based on race and gave the girls of color the lesser amenities.

Other YouTubers including Daniella Perkins and Eris (aka Eris the Planet) expressed the discomfort and isolation they felt during the Coachella trip.

But that’s not all Dote did.

Similarly, on a Disney Land trip, the  Instagram posts were extremely white, with the token ethnic here and there for the diversity card. On a trip to Fiji, in order to qualify for a spot, influencers had to reach a “follower goal.”

According to YouTuber Kianna Naomi, she was one of two black girls who did not reach the follower goal and felt that Dote was tokenizing her for the sake of diversity. Photographers referred to Kianna and Lisette (aka Luhhsetty) as the “black girls” despite knowing the white influencers’ names.

She also stated that despite the trip being a marketing strategy for the company, Dote’s main goal was to take photos of the girls, and she often did not have any photos taken of her.

“No one is taking pictures of you on a trip that’s for pictures. You’re gonna feel uncomfortable.”

Kianna and other girls of color complained to the company about the lack of photos. In response to the complaint, the event coordinators put together a shoot on the beach.

Naomi describes the photographers as clumping together all the girls of color into a group for several group photos.

The photographer proceeds to walk by and half-heartedly snap some close-ups without giving direction. Later, all the Dote girls received their photos at the end of the trip. The beach photos were unedited and overall discarded and not given to the girls of color.

Nonetheless, in response to the callout videos and backlash to Dote’s racist doings, the company’s founder and CEO Lauren Farleigh released the statement, below.

So what actions did Dote take to rectify this “mistake”?

After YouTubers of color called Dote out, their response also included deleting a bunch of their Instagram posts.

They removed the photos that featured all white girls. Dote also began posting more women of color with diverse body types on their feed with the caption “this is what dote looks like.”

this is what dote looks like

A post shared by dote (@doteshopping) on

So, the move was obviously a cover-up and people noticed, posting comments on the posts. amberdoeeeee responded,

“Since 10 minutes ago…?”

taylor.marie.ellis followed up and said,

“when you get accused of being discriminatory and racist, you start posting more photos of people of color. interesting🧐 this isn’t what dote looks like, it’s PR and quite honestly sad and desperate. this is not authentic posting, it’s damage control. there’s a difference. do better!”

Apparently, most of their recent posts are photos of women of color from past years and trips that Dote initially discarded. Dote’s attempt at rebranding comes too little too late and too shady.

Being a woman of color in a white industry still sucks. Still, the fight continues. Boycott Dote and all the other racist companies.

What’s more American than the ongoing saga of cultural appropriation?

When you ask someone to walk a mile in your shoes, you usually don’t mean for them to literally wear your shoes. The idea is to experience another person’s culture to better understand them. That is the constant argument for appreciation over appropriation.

Still, despite the buffet of explanations on why appropriation is bad, disrespectful and in some cases violent, “white people” continue to do it. Why? It’s for personal gain of course not because they care about the culture itself.

When senior students at Memorial High School in Texas created “Thug Day,” it wasn’t for irony or introspection about the word ‘thug’. They were having fun. They were making fun and they were feeling cool about embodying a caricature of what the word meant to them.

The word ‘thug’ is code for POC criminal. Using the word ‘thug’ in this way is violent. It promotes a justification for brutality against those who may or may not fit the physical description of what white people think is a ‘thug’. Apparently, these white kids think a ‘thug’ looks like Lil Bow Wow circa 2001.

When called out by one of their white classmates on Twitter, they decided to threaten her with violence.

According to a Buzzfeed interview, she has not felt safe enough to return to school since the tweet went viral and death threats ensued.

One of the commentators on the post defended the students claiming that if a high-end fashion brand had done it, it would’ve been acceptable and praised.

But Gucci was called out several times for it’s inappropriate and disrespectful racist clothing.

But they’ve learned their lesson, unlike these kids. Oh no wait, they didn’t.

Only three months after Gucci’s blackface sweater, they’ve released a $790 Turban. After outrage from the Sikh community, Nordstrom pulled the Turban from its website and apologized for their racial insensitivity.

Gucci has yet to apologize though.

We’ve discussed time and again why wearing another person’s culture can be a bad idea. From disrespect to the outright promotion of violence.

Headdresses at Coachella is offensive but people still don’t get it. Attendees still show up with them despite Coachella banning Native headdresses.

Gucci keeps disrespecting cultures and using racism as a fashion statement. The designer makes money off of clothing that dehumanizes some races and ignores the violence against them.

Artists like Madonna keep mixing fragments of distinct cultures to create an outfit for events like the VMAs and uses tribal elements from various parts of an entire continent without regard to their significance.

Morning show anchors still wear sombreros and fake mustaches on Cinco de Mayo while actual Latinx men, women, and children get detained and tortured.

Additionally, white kids still wear cornrows and du-rags for fun at the same schools’ black kids are persecuted for the same thing.

Like Angela Davis said,

“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist.”

And America is racist as hell.

NYC has a super-villain asshole making everyone late for work

In suspicious activity possibly spanning years, someone has, as one MTA New York City Transit source described, been “fucking with the trains.”

This person — or group of people — is somehow unlocking the safety chains, climbing into the back car, and pulling the emergency brakes. According to ABC7News, this person has a “key” that unlocks the cab where they pull the e-brake.

Making matters worse, he’s also been striking during rush hour, creating traffic jams and slowing down the commute during the busiest time of travel. Another fact, he’s been doing it at least once a week.

Officials were reluctant to talk about the suspect, out of apparent fear of inspiring copycats. Still, the MTA has known about this activity for a long time.

The primary lines the suspect targets are the 2 and the 5 trains, going from Flatbush Ave to Midtown. Additionally, he’s been spotted on the 4 and an uptown 6 local train.

Though he has been spotted on these lines, he remains unidentified and was defined in only the vaguest of physical descriptions, “young, male, wearing black clothing and white sneakers.” So that eliminates basically no one. (I guess we know our supervillain isn’t a villainess.)

In more sus news, the villain is known to vanish into the tunnels like a ghost. Finally, on May 23, the NYPD released a video of a potential suspect and encouraged commuters to help identify this man.

Is this dude like the Joker, wreaking havoc just to see the world set on fire? Or is there a larger plan here, some vendetta against the deeply troubled subway system?

Even though there’s still always time for a pun, remember, if you do see something say something. Also, it’d probably be best to start your commute an hour to an hour and a half earlier.

We all know our bosses won’t believe this one.

Stan Lee’s ex-business partner was reportedly finessing him before his death

Stan Lee, the man behind some of the biggest films in the past decade, was reportedly the subject of abuse before his passing in 2018, reports say.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court told The Hollywood Reporter an arrest warrant was issued for Keya Morgan. Morgan was charged with multiple counts of elder abuse including alleged false imprisonment.

As of right now, Morgan is not in custody but his attorney, Alex Kessel, told The Associated Press that his client is not guilty and he expects him to be exonerated.

The new drama surrounding the late comic icon can actually be traced back to last year. In April, THR reported that Lee was quarreling with his most inner circle. He also claimed they were financially motivated to take control over his life.

In result, that same summer, Lee’s legal representatives filed for a restraining order against Morgan, which was granted.

Also to be noted, last month, Morgan pleaded no contest to filing a false police report. He was then mandated to stay away from Lee’s family and residence, along with completing 100 hours of community service, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.

While all the facts of the case aren’t out, the potential of foul play going on with Stan Lee would be a let-down of epic proportions, from what he has brought to the culture and our childhoods.

His Marvel franchise is the highest grossing movie franchise in history. Thus far the franchise has raked in $23 billion at the box office and Lee as an executive producer boasts a personal fortune of around $50 million. To think of someone wanting to bring harm to a 90-year-old, let alone of these accomplishments is saddening.

Now, Stan Lee did not live a life without blemish. In April of last year, the Marvel mastermind was accused of sexual misconduct by several home nurses who used to work for the 95-year-old.

According to the lawsuit, Lee was accused of assault, battery, violation of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. Additionally, he was accused of emotional distress, and named his former assistant, Max Anderson, in a count of civil conspiracy. The later charges stemmed from two separate massage therapy sessions on Apr. 21 and 22, 2017, in a Chicago hotel room.

But that doesn’t mean he, even in death, deserves to be canceled or be denied justice if these allegations prove true. Lee and his team denied the claims, he just never lived long enough to have his name cleared.

Lee died in November of 2018.

More information on the case is sure to develop as they look to arrest Morgan until then we can only hope justice is served for all parties involved.

Is she really putting in the work? The truth behind Kim K freeing inmates

This past week, reports of Kim Kardashian “quietly freeing inmates” over the past 90 days rubbed some people the wrong way.

The reality television star and mogul’s interest in law isn’t what’s shocking. She’s made it known that she was following the footsteps of her father by studying to become a lawyer.

Kim has even received kudos for her lobbying efforts by getting President Donald Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson. Johnson was serving a life sentence on a nonviolent drug charge committed in 1996.

But it’s the latest headlines that have caused a stir because it, yet again, proves everything true of what many feel Kim K really is. A culture vulture and talentless fraud.

TMZ reported that Kim and her legal team helped 17 prisoners gain freedom over the last three months or so — each of them having served years of life sentences without parol for low-level drug offenses. But apparently, that’s not quite the case.

Kim K’s “team” is actually made up of two lawyers Brittany K. Barnett and MiAngel Cody. Both are two Black women that started a campaign called 90 Days of Freedom and brought Kim K on for funding.

The headlines are so misleading and reports so dismissing, that Barnett actually took time out to clarify. She wrote on her Facebook last week:

“The first and last time I will speak on it. Seriously, because the negativity from today is misdemeanor s*** and we still have lives to save. MiAngel Cody and I have BEEN doing this work for FREE. Ask any of our dozens of clients who are now free living their best lives. Both of us left six-figure salary jobs and wiped out our own savings accounts to fund our work. We attempted to get grants from these large foundations shelling out MILLIONS of dollars to other organizations but would not look our way because they so-called don’t fund ‘direct services’”

Barnett went on to say that Kim is majorly involved in the financial aspect. Plus, she is very grateful to work with the reality star. She said,

“Kim linked arms with us to support us when foundations turned us down. We and our clients and their families have a lot of love for her and are deeply grateful for her. Regardless of who helped fund us for the past three months, in 90 days, TWO black women lawyers freed SEVENTEEN people from LIFE W/O PAROLE sentences – the second most severe penalty permitted by law in America. Only two of us.”

She even went to Kim’s defense and said it’s the media’s fault, not hers.

“Kim has always been very clear in her role. It’s the media that spins it around – not Kim. We do not care how the media is portraying it – that’s what the media does. Who cares. We need Kim’s support and the support of anyone else who wants to join this fight. We love that she is using her platform to raise awareness. We ain’t trying to be famous, we trying to get our people free. Period.”

While her defense of Kim is fair, it still would’ve been nothing for Kim to come out and reappropriate the praise she was receiving. It falls along too well with behavior people have brought up about her and her families products all these years.

From stealing fashion looks to make-up platelets to receiving credit for bringing full lips and braids back in style, this is just the latest episode of the Kardashians being praised for things Black women have been doing for years.

For the record, Barnett and Cody have saved 37 lives from unfair sentences with The Buried Alive Project. FYI: That work has not received one headline. Funding is not the same as the actual legwork and paperwork it takes to make these things happen. People need to see the true faces bearing the burden, not the one writing the check.

Nonetheless, Kim’s intentions are honorable and it would not be able to happen without her. But credit should be given where credit is due.

Why Trump’s comfortable honoring his ‘token Black guy’ Tiger Woods

Yesterday Tiger Woods was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump, making him the fourth golfer in history to achieve the prestigious acknowledgment.

Tiger’s name is synonymous with golf. Still, it wasn’t until recently winning his first major in nearly 11 years at last month’s Masters Tournament that people remembered just how special he is.

At a young 43, Woods has won 15 majors. Only Jack Nicklaus has won the most majors at 18. Thus, making it more than feasible for Tiger to break the all-time record. It made that Masters win that more significant, especially seeing what he’s come back from.

The reason Trump said “Tiger was back on top” during the Rose Garden ceremony yesterday wasn’t just because of the injuries he’s had to endure. But because of the very public cheating, divorce, DUI’s and even having to check in to a sex addiction clinic.

Every sports writer and talking head on every platform wrote him off. No one saw this happening for him. Now, they admittedly all have their own foot in their mouths.

Tiger undoubtedly deserves the honor. It’s just a shame it also comes at Trump’s benefit.

Trump has historically spoken down to and gone out of his way to address Blacks like second class citizens. It so happens that Tiger is MAGA and Trump’s ‘token Black friend’ who will now be a pawn used to defend how Trump can’t be racist.

I’d like to believe that Trump really likes Tiger — he probably does — but it’s all too perfect. Here’s Tiger, a Black man and former disgraced champion who bounced back after decades to reclaim glory, receiving the nation’s highest civilian honor.

It doesn’t mean he cares about Black people nor does it mean he won’t leverage the optics with Tiger to pander to the Black vote.

He’s done it before and he’ll do it again.

Hell, just a couple of weeks ago when Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray was the first overall pick in the NFL draft Trump went out his way to congratulate the number two pick instead — some no-name white kid from Duke.

Trump also said, “both sides” —  both the counterprotesters and those members of the alt-right who did Nazi salutes —  were to blame for the violence in Charlottesville in 2017. Additionally, he used the death of Dwayne Wade’s cousin to highlight the gun violence in Chicago the year before.

This man even sent a tweet declaring her death as more evidence that African-Americans would vote for Trump, clearing playing her passing for political gain.

Look, shout-out to Tiger and his historical honor but it doesn’t move me in the slightest bit. If I may borrow the words of Mr. West, “Donald Trump does not care about Black people.” I’ll be damned if I let him honoring his favorite of ‘us’ deter me from that fact.

We can’t expect every great Black athlete to skip the White House but we can demand more from our President. Until then no one’s going for the troll or playing into his politics.

Instagram is getting rid of LIKES: Why the change and what it could mean

Starting next week you will not be able to see how many likes a post on Instagram receives.

At least temporarily…

At Facebook’s “F8 Conference” earlier today, a spokesperson said that the company is beta testing hiding likes from the public. By the way, they’re beginning next week.

“We are testing this because we want your followers to focus on the photos and videos you share, not how many likes they get,” an Instagram spokesperson told Techcrunch.

“We understand that this is important for many creators, and while this test is in exploratory stages, we are thinking through ways for them to communicate value to their brand partners.”

Those who are still addicted to their “likes” numbers need not worry. Hiding the amount of “likes” won’t affect the algorithm.

It’s no secret that Instagram has made lasting, dare I say irreparable, effects on our generation and culture. To be an Instagram influencer is the new gold rush and everybody and their mama are cashing in.

The marketability of likes and retweets has created a new-aged phenomenon we’ve never seen before. It’s easy to see that individuals are doing whatever they can do to attract attention and boost their appearance.

It’s a dangerous game, from huge massive failures like Fyre Fest to posting fake ads on Instagram for clout. Honestly, they took it to far and messed the game up. So, it’s obvious the company wants to make a change.

The only issue is that there are hundreds of thousands of legitimate influencers whose paychecks are dependent on those likes. The IG spokesperson stated, “We understand that this is important for many creators, and while this test is in exploratory stages…”

“We are thinking through ways for them to communicate value to their brand partners.”

The company will begin testing in Canada because “Canadians are highly social and tech-savvy, with over 24 million people connecting across our family of apps each month. We wanted to test this with a digitally savvy audience that has a thriving community on Instagram,” a company spokesperson explained to Tech Crunch.

In addition to controlling the focus of “likes,” the company also wants to lead the fight against internet bullying.

According to Tech Crunch, the new Instagram features will include:

A new “nudge” feature will warn users if they’re about to comment something hurtful. The test stops short of censorship while still addressing bullying before it happens.

“Away Mode” will encourage users to take a break from Instagram at intense times in their life, like moving to a new school. They don’t have to delete their account, but can still get a break from constant notifications and concerns about how they look.

“Manage Interactions” will allow users to set limits on how certain people interact with them without having to block them completely. Maybe you don’t want someone to be able to comment on your posts, but still, Like them. Or you’re cool with them seeing your photos but don’t want to get DMs from them.

Only time will tell how people are going to take to not receiving likes.

Why you always lying? Trump highkey has already told 10,000 lies as President

According to fact checkers from the Washington Post, President Trump told lie number 10,000. He hit this unsavory milestone on Friday while discussing the 2017 Charlottesville protests.

You know, the one with torch-brandishing Neo-nazis who Trump refused to condemn? The protests with “good people on both sides?” Yeah.

Interestingly, Trump’s rate of lying has increased since he first took office in Jan. 2017. Post-fact-checker Glenn Kessler notes that, in Trump’s first 100 days in office, he averaged five lies a day.

In the last seven months, that number has rocketed to 23. An article by The Guardian observes that this heightened rate of untruths coincides with the release of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump’s potential collusion with Russia and obstruction of justice and the lengthy government shutdown over the wall.

Coincidentally, this shutdown ended just in time for Trump to give a televised State of the Union address. You can’t prevent a reality TV star from clogging up our airwaves.

These Post-fact-checkers determine that approximately one-fifth of his lies have to do with immigration. For instance, at a rally in Wisconsin, Trump told attendees that “open borders bring tremendous crime.”

In reality (a place that Trump doesn’t seem to inhabit), there are many studies that show that both documented and undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens.

His most oft-repeated lie is that the wall between the U.S. and Mexico is already being built. But perhaps his most disgusting lie took place this Saturday at this same rally in Wisconsin.

Concerning late-term abortion, Trump told his devotees,

“The baby is born, the mother meets with the doctor, they take care of the baby, they wrap the baby beautifully…Then the doctor and mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby.”

Trump’s lying is so prolific that Politifact, which categorizes his statements as “True,” “Half True,” “Mostly False,” “False” or “Pants on Fire,” is thirty-four pages long.

But how useful is fact-checking when there is no discernible political cost? What does it mean that the leader of the free world has paid zero political price for his prodigious lying?

What does it mean for our democracy?

Don’t attempt to rob Bun B, he might just pop you for trying

Bun B had to bust a cap in someone’s derriere last night as he defended his home from a home invasion.

TMZ reports that the Houston rapper overheard his wife offering someone their Audi after answering a knock on the front door to what happened to be an armed masked man demanding valuables.

That’s when the UGK rapper came down with his gun and proceeded to engage in a shoot-out with the intruder who tried to make off with the luxury car. The thief managed to get away but not before leaving his gun behind.

According to TMZ, the masked man showed up at a Houston-area hospital with a gunshot injury to his shoulder several hours later. He was treated for his injuries but then arrested for two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count burglary.

Local ABC affiliate ABC13 reports, along with the Houston police department, that the man’s name is DeMonte Jackson.

They say the more money you come across the more problems you see, and by looking at the number of rappers who have their chains stolen and houses invaded you’d have to agree.

Soulja Boy’s home was recently burglarized just this month, losing a reported $500,000 worth of jewelry in the process.

Then last year we saw rapper Rich The Kid lose a significant amount of cash and even sustain injuries after being targeted in a home invasion while at his girlfriend house.

And who can forget Big Sean’s house in the Valley being burglarized for about $150,000 worth of jewelry back in 2015?

I don’t know what it is with these rappers but they’re either good at making themselves targets or bad at choosing friends. A lot of times these invasions are reported as inside jobs, which make you think if surrounding yourself with solid people is really that difficult.

Although most likely traumatic for both Bun B and his wife it’s a good thing he was strapped, it’s also a picture-perfect example of how nuanced the second amendment is as our interpretation to it should be.

Gun reform doesn’t mean loss of gun ownership, just regulation. We want more examples of what happened with Bun B and less of Parkland and Vegas.

It has not been reported that either Bun B or his wife sustained injuries and Bun B has not released a statement yet as of this time.

In the meantime, in the fashion of giving people flowers while they can still smell them, let’s appreciate some of Bun’s latest work:

Kulture Hub was able to capture the process it took for him and Statik Selektah to make their latest album TrillStatik at the New York Studio Factory in Bushwick Brooklyn following their live-streamed recording session in the studio on 4/20.

You can listen to TrillStatik exclusively on global music and entertainment streaming platform, TIDAL.
