Beyonce is truly one of the most powerful and influential performers in modern pop culture.
Her tours gross millions of dollars per night, her last album Lemonade was the highest-selling album of 2016 and most critics considered it the best work of the year.
With an estimated net worth of $350 million Beyonce is one of the most successful artists in the world. On top of that, with annual earnings of $105 million, Bey was the second highest grossing artist on earth.
Now there are even rumors of her buying the Houston Rockets. Imagine NBA owner Beyonce…
But there’s so much more to Beyonce’s story and person than those numbers and Forbes lists. Beyonce is now the mother of three after having twins in June.
The Houston native spoke to Vogue in 2013 about how she values motherhood and family:
“I feel like I have something that has grounded me so much more. Family has always been important. I’ve always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it’s just …. Life is so much more than … It’s not defined by any of this [fame and money].”
Shoutout mama Bey.
Further, Beyonce has emerged at the forefront of the Black Lives Matter movement. Performing at the Super Bowl in Black Panther-inspired garb.
While certain people were offended by the display (lol), many more were inspired by one of the most powerful artists in the world showing that level of social advocacy.
Last July, Beyonce posted a message to her website after the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police. Beyonce wrote:
“These robberies of lives make us feel helpless and hopeless but we have to believe that we are fighting for the rights of the next generation, for the next young men and women who believe in good. This is a human fight. No matter your race, gender or sexual orientation. This is a fight for anyone who feels marginalized, who is struggling for freedom and human rights.”
The former Destiny’s Child member is one of the most inspiring artists in the world. And she ain’t stopping anytime soon.
