Donald Trump sucks.
Naturally some people are trying to reimagine a world where he is not in the position that he currently occupies. Further, some people envision a world in which Barack Obama and Joe Biden come back to rescue us from this predicament.
Behold the ‘Barry & Joe’ Kickstarter.
Started by Adam Reid of NYC-based Bodega Studios, ‘Barry & Joe’ describes itself as, “an adult animated sci-fi sitcom. A parody of Quantum Leap and countless other 80’s TV classics,” according to their Kickstarter page.
The proposed animates series has already reached their goal of $100,000, raising a total of $107,904 so far.
It’s clear that we need this, whatever it is.
The actual premise is hilarious as Reid has Barack Obama and Joe Biden go back in time to change the course of history. From Reid’s Kickstarter:
“Moments after the inauguration of the forty-fifth President, Barack Obama and his best friend Joe Biden were escorted to a secret lab, run by a team of the world’s greatest scientists and occasionally Elon Musk… They would awake to find themselves inside of their younger selves. Driven to find each other, and together, change history for the better.”
Given the severity of their mission, Barry and Joe will need some help on the way. Who is their trusty sidekick? Who else but Neil deGrasse Tyson?
“Their only guide on this journey is Neil deGrasse Tyson. A brilliant scientist from the present who appears in the form of an augmented reality that only they can see and hear.”
And the specifics of the mission itself?
“And so they find themselves leaping throughout their own lifetime. Looking for the best in people… Striving to right injustice wherever they find it. Forever hoping that their next jump in time will take them to a future that’s not scary and fucked up.”
This sounds amazing.
It definitely makes us long for the days of Barrack and Joe occupying the White House doing cool shit and not being a massive national embarrassment.
They say you never know what you got ’till it’s gone and in this case what we have is making it all so much worse.
If Barry and Joe can’t save us in real life we might as well pretend.
