How Adidas is using influencers to push the brand into the future

No brand is going to dethrone the king, Nike. At least not yet. They’ve dominated the game literally my entire life. If you didn’t have Nikes growing up, you just couldn’t be wavy but that thought is beginning to change.

Nowadays we are really pushing the idea of individuality and being different so people are leaving their Nikes behind for something new. As the people leave the Swoosh behind, they are picking up the three stripes for a new look.

Adidas knows this and are capitalizing on it. With campaigns like “Create Positivity” or “Sports Need Creators” they are pushing for uniqueness.

Their latest campaign for “Originals Is Never Finished,” is by far the wildest. Just take a look.

Clearly Adidas had money to just throw after they’ve been killin’ it but who thought this was a good idea? Maybe this is the future but i don’t know bro, this is just freaky.

Let’s not focus on the video itself so much but rather who’s in it. Their partners are the future of both Adidas and fashion.

As Nike has all the greatest stars in sports like LeBron, Serena, and Ronaldo; Adidas is going for a new wave of influencers that we see in the video above.

Cultural figures like Kendall, Carti, The Beard and Thugger are changing the fashion world by signing with Adidas and there’s no doubt we will see the brand continue to grow.

If you think that’s all who Adidas has on the squad let me show you what else Adidas got with them. These are some of their biggest collabs yet.

Kanye West

We can’t leave Kanye out of a list of Adidas partnerships… it’s Kanye.

Many people were skeptical when he first announced he would join Adidas but the work he has done with his Yeezy brand there has been nothing short of amazing.

Pharrell

A post shared by Pharrell Williams (@pharrell) on

Here’s Pharrell with his latest Tennis Hu. Here’s further Pharrell sneaker analysis.

Pharrell is a genius when it comes to fashion and just having him on your team means greatness is bound to happen.

Jeremy Scott

Spotted in Mountain Dandy. Jeremy Scott for Adidas. #sickshoes #adidas #jeremyscott #jeremyscottadidas #icarus

A post shared by Mountain Dandy (@mountaindandy) on

One of Adidas’ earliest partners, Scott has created sneakers that have shaken up the sneaker world.

His teddy bear sneaker changed the way people viewed footwear and just like that Scott made an impact forever.

Alexander Wang

This upcoming drop will be the second batch of ideas Wang and Adidas have come up with.

With the first being so successful there’s no way they’ll stop here.

Raf Simons

A post shared by Ham (@hamborghini) on

The work Simons and Adidas have made together has been just pure gold. These sneakers are highly sought after with big resale prices.

They really are crafting sneakers for the future.

Of course, there are plenty of other Adidas collaborators we didn’t mention, like Rick Owens and Yohji Yamamoto, but the fact remains that Adidas has a bright future ahead of them.

They may just become the brand of the future one day and eventually dethrone Nike.

New Yeezy V2 colorways leak and we’re not so sure about these…

“Yeezy Season approaching” as more and more leaks of future Yeezy V2’s are coming out.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new V2 colorway release but according to @theYeezyMafia that might change soon.

Besides the colorways, they show below there’s a completely new color on the way.

What are these colors though? The first one is just belugas again. The second one is probably the best and that’s saying something because it’s not that great. I got no comment on the yellow… SMH

The new V2 is coming in what people are calling “Red Night.” Keeping the zebra type print all over, it’s filled in with the colors Red Night, Chalk Purple, Chalk Pink.

We did see a lot of these colors during Kanye’s Yeezy Season 5, especially with the Calabasas logo. These V2’s do seem very plausible.

But as with any Yeezy release, expect these to be hard to cop, but obviously that goes without saying. It’s hard to tell how resale will look on these as stock plays a big part.

Either way it’s worth a shot. Yeezys are Yeezys.

It’s a solid colorway but Kanye, where is the love for 750’s or even a new design?

Yeezy Mafia has been spot on with leaks so it’s hard not to believe what they tweet but a leak is still a leak so take these with a grain of salt.

The history of Pharrell sneaker collaborations proves he’s a style icon

Nike has been the unrivaled sneaker king for as long as we can remember. With brands like Jordan and Converse it’s hard to compete.

But recently, Adidas has really stepped up their game with their Stan Smiths, Ultra Boosts, and NMD’s.

Adidas has even picked up major designers like Kanye West and Yohji Yamamoto, along with various others.

Pharrell was added to this roster back in 2014 but didn’t release the now-legendary NMD Human Race until recently. The cheapest one of these is going for around $700.

Pharrell has now created the Adidas Tennis Hu that released in a white and green color back in May.

Now Adidas and Pharrell are bringing us an entirely new colorway with a pastel blue, pink, and green. They are releasing alongside Stan Smiths of the same color.

Here’s just a taste of what’s to come:

Adidas

Adidas

Adidas

You can pick up these packs on August 10th.

From his time at BBC, to his various collabs, this isn’t even close to the first time Pharrell has been involved with the fashion world.

Pharrell has no doubt shaken up fashion with his unique style.

Let’s peep some of Skateboard P’s other sneakers just to celebrate the release of these Tennis Hu.

Nike x Pharrell 2005

Serving as part of a Nike artist campaign in 2005, Pharrell kept the colorway nice and simple with subtle touches to help keep the shoe timeless.

With the N*E*R*D* logo stamped on the heel people will instantly know what you got.

BAPE x Pharrell 2006

pisschild.bigcartel.com

Pharrell and BAPE have a long history mainly due to the fact that his longtime friend Nigo created the brand.

These came in crazy metallic colors that really stand out. These wild colors have become a sort of Pharrell trademark.

Pharrell NMD

What hasn’t been already said about these sneakers, they’re just a masterpiece.

The combination of the Adidas NMD and Pharrell’s mind coming together was always destined for greatness.

Bee Line x Timberland

Pharrell made these Timbs and they are definitely not your average boots. With such a crazy look these jawns definitely leave a statement.

These are something only Pharrell could think up.

BBC x Pharrell

Pharrell has an official collab with his own brand Billionaires Boys Club (how does that even work?).

They might not have had the same hype as other sneakers on this list but nevertheless still a solid release.

Tyler the Creator and ScHoolboy Q can’t stop roasting each other

With the speed we get our news at, social media jokes can elevate to headline-generating “beef” within minutes.

Just a simple joke can turn Twitter into a children’s playground where petty shots are flying left and right.

I mean, I guess a fight over the internet is better than in real life but they’re still dumb.

Twitter is now losing it over ScHoolboy Q and Tyler, the Creator over Tyler’s “Who Dat Boy.” But here’s why they’re trippin.

It all started after Twitter user @_Hodges_ tweeted SchoolboyQ:

Which lead to @ScHoolboyQ responding with this:

Once Tyler saw this he absolutely destroyed ScHoolboy Q:

People were left unsure whether they were serious or not but let’s be real both of these dudes are known for trolling.

This isn’t even their first “beef” just peep this…

A friendly hello

Q went straight to his attacking his momma, damn

Tyler really want Q to moisturize

Q had the lotion on deck

“Like a Virgin buying condoms” now thats a classic

He really dragged Wayne into this

LEAVE HIS ASHY KNEES ALONE lmao

These dudes are constantly playing with each other. They’re friends so there isn’t any real beef between them.

If you’re still unconvinced, here’s a video of Q hanging out with Rocky and Tyler.

The highly-anticipated Supreme x Nas collab looks like it’s actually about to drop

Supreme is known for much more than just their iconic bogo. Their photo tees also build a bunch of hype around them, take the recent Gucci Mane tee for example.

Prices can range anywhere close to the $200 mark. Shit ain’t no joke. Other photo tees have become legendary, like the 2008 kermit tee and the 2012 Kate Moss tee

This season it looks as if the legendary Queens rapper Nas is finally getting his photo tee. This has been long waited for as pictures of Nas in a bogo go back as far as 2013.

NAS FOR SUPREME Nas is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur. Nas comes from the Heart Of Queens, New York and has been relevant for nearly the past 3 Decades. Nas has released eight consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums and has sold over 25,000,000 records worldwide including the Classic Album ILLMATIC which dropped the same year Supreme Opened its first store on Lafayette in 1994. This Fall/Winter Supreme is set to Immortalize NAS by gracing him as the Face of the next Photo Tee. Originally Teased In 2013 but never dropped, the time is finally coming. This is just a mock up of the tee to come but he will be wearing a black beanie, Olive Fatigue Jacket, and of course the original red box on white tee Nasty Nas Written Under Photo #QBsFinest #QueensBridge #NYStateOfMind #TheWorldIsYours #NastyNas #JustWaitOnIt

A post shared by Jay Preme (@dropsbyjay) on

Back in June, photos of Nas again came out in a bogo making it appear likely that the tee will come out this season.

Instagram user @diablosoles must’ve received his tees a little early as he posted himself in the photo tee already.

It looks like it’s gonna be a crazy season for Supreme with them having so many new drops, but the real question is who’s due next for a photo tee.

NOAH releases new Fall ’17 lookbook and it’s too clean

As Fall rapidly approaches big streetwear brands are beginning to tease their upcoming drops.

Clothing brand NOAH just released their lookbook for the fall ’17 season and from what they’ve showed… it’s lit.

NOAH sells high quality streetwear with a strong following so be alert when they have a drop or you might not find your size.

NOAH

Even worse, you might have to pay resale.

This season Brendon Babenzian, NOAH’s founder, decided to go heavy on wool pieces as a majority of the shots showcase.

A post shared by Noah Clothing (@noahclothing) on

Of course they did’t forget to show off their logo hoodies and tees that are a definite must cop.

Their Rose tee just looks so good, no doubt it’ll sell out quickly when it releases.

NOAH

Also don’t sleep on those Rugby shirts either cause they are fire.

No release date has been given for the first drop so stay alert so you don’t miss it.

A post shared by Noah Clothing (@noahclothing) on

NOAH is a solid brand with good intentions in an industry that can be pretty cut throat.

On their about page Babenzien explains why he started their brand:

“As a brand, Noah seeks to take a stand against many of the appalling practices of the fashion industry. Our clothes are made in countries, mills and factories where tradition, expertise and human dignity take precedence over the bottom line. We donate portions of our profits to causes we believe in…”

They are definitely worth supporting and have dope clothes; unfortunately it comes with a pretty steep price tag.

Fit Watch: 10 LA streetwear brands on the come up

The rivalry between East Coast and West Coast is a tale as old as time.

Since we just took a look at NYC’s up and coming brands there was no way we couldn’t check out what LA had to offer. LA already has a crazy line up when it comes streetwear brands.

Brands like The Hundreds, Diamond Supply Co., and Undefeated all have brought their own twist to streetwear.

Sure, New York got the heat but you gotta respect what LA has come out with. They bring a totally different vibe, which is dope cause you gotta diversify the closet.

These up and comers are sick and absolutely worth checking out.

Just don’t be surprised when you see some of these brands compared to the biggest names in streetwear in the coming years.

These brands are mostly known only in LA but once they start reaching the East coast you better hope you copped now or it’ll be to late.

Brain Dead

A post shared by BRAIN DEAD (@wearebraindead) on

Brain Dead is based out of LA but is a collaboration of artists and designers from around the world. They recently put out a very lit Vans collab.

Their designs may be a little wild but that is never a bad thing. It helps them stand out.

If they keep doing what they’re doing there’s no doubt they’ll blow up.

Babylon LA

A post shared by Babylon (@babylon.la) on

Babylon LA is a skate brand with their very own skate bowl in the backyard. All their pieces are sick but with their most recent Budweiser collab, they really killed it.

It don’t matter whether you like clothing or skating, Babylon LA has something for you. Keep an eye out for them because we don’t know what fire they might drop next.

Swapmeet

A post shared by S₩APMEET® (@swapmeet.la) on

Swapmeet defines themselves as a brand where they tell stories with their clothes. For them “Everything’s for sale.”

Their simple designs are dope and you won’t have to go crazy looking for a good fit.

The Nike Cortez collab was fire and I would definitely keep an eye out for future drops.

Future Replica

A post shared by @futurereplica on

Since 2011 Future Replica has continued to drop dope clothes. Many of their designs are reminiscent of older brand logos like Playstation 2 and FILA.

They are definitely worth a follow as what they’ve done so far has been too nice to pass up.

Pleasure.now

With a name like Pleasures Now you might expect a playful light-hearted brand but instead their designs are very dark with sprinkles of humor.

It might not be for everyone but it is still fire. With time this brand will surely spread and we’ll see a new big name in streetwear.

MintCrew

A post shared by MintCrew (@mintcrew) on

Mintcrew is a high-end brand that’s influenced by the classic LA streetwear aesthetic.

They aren’t too expensive compared to other high-end LA brands so your paycheck won’t be beat.

Their tees are long so you know they’ll go great when you decide to layer. A lot of their clothing is sold out so you might wanna get on before it’s too late.

Hypland

A post shared by HYPLAND WORLDWIDE (@hypland) on

Hypland might be based in LA but they don’t let that limit them.

They mix culture from around the world into their designs so that you can rock their clothing wherever.

Their concept is dope and I would love to see where else they go. Don’t sleep on Hypland cause they will definitely drop some heat.

BornxRaised

This means a lot to me. The GOAT. King Kendrick. #thedamntour

A post shared by bornxraised (@bornxraised) on

BornxRaised (Born and Raised) is just too clean.

So many of their designs scream Cali. If you want to rep that LA look, Born x Raised is for you. This brand is fresh and they even got King Kendrick himself wearing them.

If you’re not already on this then you bout to take an L.

RHUDE

A post shared by R H U D E (@rhudedesigns) on

Founded back in 2014, RHUDE aims to make a simple design that appeals to younger generations. They describe their brand thusly:

“RHUDE focuses on minimalistic effortless style mixed with streetwear sensibilities, using fine fabrics and focus on fit. Rhude celebrates the youth and elegance through simple and functional clothes.”

They accomplish those goals and they do it well. What they have on their website is dope and clearly Future agrees. They are pricier than most other brands on this list but if you got the bread and want something nice RHUDE is worth it.

Virgil Normal

A post shared by Virgil Normal (@virgilnormal) on

Founded on the corner of Virgil and Normal, Virgil Normal, sells a wide range of items besides clothing.

Their clothing is hot and people will easily recognize you’re rocking an LA brand from the logo.

Their site is absolutely worth a look as they have other brands if you don’t like what they offer (but they probably got something for you).

IG account ‘Diet Prada’ exposes copycat brands for being mad shady

The fashion industry is straight up wild. You’ve seen all the pics of certain outfits from designers that make you just scratch your head.

There are entire Instagram and Twitter accounts that poke fun at the crazy fits that end up on the runway.

We might not understand the meaning behind the look but we know it’s funny. So let me introduce you to your new favorite Instagram if you’re looking to laugh at the fashion world.

Diet Prada has made a name for themselves by exposing designers who seem to “borrow” inspiration from others.

But what exactly is the difference between straight up copying and inspiration? In an interview with I-D Diet Prada said,

“I think you can look at an old vintage garment and draw inspiration from that. But sometimes the thinking is more XYZ sells, so if I copy them I know my stuff will sell too. They’re like, ‘I wanna make money, so I’m gonna copy it,’ instead of, ‘Oh, this is good design so I’m gonna copy it.'”

They want to give exposure to smaller designers who get their ideas stolen so they can at least have a voice.

Recently they helped an upcoming artist whose project was ripped off by Vika Gazinskaya, a much larger designer.

Diet Prada helped by making the dilemma reach larger fashion magazines. They even got the designers to respond.

As long as Diet Prada is around no designers are safe because you will get exposed.

Here are just some examples of copy cats they exposed.

Gucci come on, we thought you were better than that

You forgot to take it out the bag

My girl is kinda swole though

15-year-old from Dubai flexes on every hypebeast with Supreme Ferrari

When it comes to stunting and flexing on people, you have to be extra these days since there’s so much wild stuff out there on social media.

We’ve all seen the type on Instagram. Kids wearing a bogo as pants or just pulling up with a lambo (that’s rented).

They might think they got it but when it comes down to it no one, and I mean no one, flexes like my boy Rashed Belhasa.

Just know that MoneyKicks has the plugs and they will be more coming this week 🙏🏽🔥#louisvuitton#supreme#complex

A post shared by Rashed Belhasa Aka-Money Kicks (@rsbelhasa) on

This 15-year-old kid has everything a hypebeast could ever want. He’s got expensive supercars, fresh ass clothes, and even a milkshake named after him. He also has a billionaire oil mogul as a father, so that helps too.

If your favorite celebrity, athlete, or rapper has ever gone to Dubai they probably met Rashed and hung out with his tigers. Wiz did and look how happy he looks.

My other account @wq ❤️😍#moneykicks1

A post shared by Rashed Belhasa Aka-Money Kicks (@rsbelhasa) on

In an interview with Highsnobiety Rashed was asked how much he spent on clothing and answered,

“I spend about $5k a month on clothes, not including sneakers. Sneakers might be around $5,000 for one pair.”

In a recent post, Rashed showed off one of the craziest cars we’ve ever seen. A Ferrari wrapped in red LV monograph with huge Supreme stickers on it.

This isn’t even the first time he’s done this with a car. Last year he turned a Cadillac into the Yeezy turtle dove.

The kid is loaded so he’ll probably do something like this again next year so keep your eyes peeled.

Would you give your son this much money just to stunt with?

Supreme continues L streak after new Nike and Reebok collab leaks

As the fall season approaches, we all know what that means: Supreme is coming back.

This year is a big year for the streetwear brand as they are opening a new store out in Brooklyn.

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing as of late for Supreme. Their apparent collaboration with Louis Vuitton was deaded. Oh, and let’s not forget those Supreme shirts in Kmart thing that happened a few days ago.

Now, images of a new possible collab between Supreme and Nike have landed on the internet. From the pics it is hard to tell exactly what they might look like but as with any Supreme x Nike collab these will definitely see some hype.

The leak comes from @supreme_leaks_news who credited @lazyfish28 for the pics.

Possible Supreme x Nike FW17 leak 👀 Second shoe looks to be a reebok What’s your thoughts on this? 📸 – @lazyfish28

A post shared by Supreme Leaks News (@supreme_leaks_news) on

Guess Supreme saw Vetements x Reebok and liked the aesthetic where the shoe looked as if it would be part of the Rebook Pump line up.

Now, the new Nike x Supreme tongue looks as if it come from Nike’s Streak Zoom

More recently @supreme_leaks_news dropped pics based on what the new Brooklyn store box logo might look like.

The bogo does give off a Brooklyn graffiti vibe so thats dope.

The red on white is definitely a most cop but I wouldn’t be surprised if people are already out there camping.

Hopefully with a new store in NY lines here won’t be as bad but at the same time, it’s Supreme so it’ll still be brazy.

As with any leak, take these with a grain of salt.
