Anakin Artz talks about his new banger ‘Automatic,’ previews next moves
Anakin Artz is back with a new track “Automatic” and it lives up to the sterling reputation the Brooklyn MC is building for himself within the New York hip-hop scene.

This release comes off the heels of the wild visuals for Artz’s track “The Force” featuring appearances from a diverse crew of “rejects.” This reject idea is something Artz deeply believes in as he’s started Reject Dreams, a collective that describes themselves as “like minded persons including but not limited to music artists, music producers, audio engineers, musicians, visual artists, visual producers, and visual performers.”
We talked to Anakin about his new track and the recording process, he told us about the meaning behind the song’s “Automatic” title,
“At first listen I wanted to make something that was fun, something for people to dance and vibe to. The phrase ‘automatic’ is a metaphor to believing in yourself regardless of what people deem impossible. Imagine Steph Curry throwing up a jump shot and turning his back to the basket before the shot lands. His belief is what allows him to know he already is going to make the basket.”
Anakin Artz explained his very specific state of mind and the philosophy behind Reject Dreams that he brings out in his music,
“It’s all about approaching things with a positive attitude so regardless of the circumstances you believe in yourself enough that you know you can defeat the odds and perform in the clutch when most needed. That’s automatic! My Reject Dreams team & I have much more in store, our future releases are going to challenge the status quo, with intriguing visuals and deep content that touches on society and the pressures of conforming.”
As hard as “Automatic” is, shit is just a preview! Anakin says he wants it to stand as an introduction,
“Before rolling that out we feel ‘Automatic’ is a proper introduction and a song that can allow people to just enjoy themselves while getting to know what it means to be a reject.”
