According to science, climate change is making humans whack

It’s looking slow for homo sapiens evolving past their current physical state.

Upon birth, every human being is scaled. measured, and weighed with hopes of the newborn being physically superior to its predecessors.

Welp, hope no more because scientists claim maximum limits for height, lifespan, and physical performance for the human race have peaked.

In fact, humans are at risk of devolving.

In a new study published in Frontiers in Physiology, scientists reviewed 120 years worth of historical information that covered the effects of genetic and environmental parameters.

The research found that regardless of whatever strides we make through nutritional, medical, and scientific progress it’s still a wrap for us exceeding our biological limitations.

In the study Professor Jean-François Toussaint from Paris Descartes University explained,

“These traits no longer increase, despite further continuous nutritional, medical, and scientific progress… This suggests that modern societies have allowed our species to reach its limits.”

Yeah, sports are about to get lame. In the coming years don’t expect to see anyone break any records. The scientists say the plateau will be seen as less sporting records are broken.

In terms of life expectancy, people will reach it but won’t exceed it. And research points to a decrease in human height as “some societies are no longer able to provide sufficient nutrition for each of their children and maintain the health of their younger inhabitants.”

So why is this happening? Our effect on the environment is playing a huge role. Professor Toussaint claimed,

“This will be one of the biggest challenges of this century as the added pressure from anthropogenic (chiefly of environmental pollution and pollutants originating in human activity.) activities will be responsible for damaging effects on human health and the environment,”

He added,

“The current declines in human capacities we can see today are a sign that environmental changes, including climate, are already contributing to the increasing constraints we now have to consider.”

This is the first research study of its kind but if we don’t take heed we will be the cause of our own decline.

This research study was conducted in order to make policymakers aware that there needs to be a recenter of focus on “ensuring that human capacities reach their highest possible values for most of the population.”

If not, best believe singularity will not be an option if you want to survive. Fuck around and become a cyborg.
