A good look or nah? Kamala Harris admits to smoking bud back in the day

Kamala Harris did indeed used to inhale the loud!

In a recent interview with the most savage radio show, The Breakfast Club, she told Charlemagne Tha God, “Half my family’s from Jamaica, are you kidding me?” Soon after Charlamagne followed up and asked if she’s ever smoked, Harris replied, “I did inhale.”

This is a good look for the former California attorney general, isn’t it? Marijuana legalization is definitely a pressing issue in the upcoming 2020 presidential election and knowing that she supports the cannabis movement is hella fire.

What’s weird is that Harris did not always seem like she was a supporter of legalizing bud. In fact, back in 2014, she laughed off reporters during an interview with KCRA News.

In response to whether she supported regulating cannabis and dismissing the pro-legalization stance of the Republican challenger for her position as attorney general she said, “He’s entitled to his opinion.”

Maybe the tides have changed for Harris. Who knows? What we do know is that she openly admitted to inhaling mother nature’s godly herb and made it seem that it’s a must, due to her “Jamaican heritage.”

Or maybe it was the fact that 62 percent of Americans support marijuana legalization and most of the Democratic presidential candidates for election 2020 have backed the movement wholeheartedly.

We all know what wouldn’t be a good look. Not supporting marijuana legalization, especially as a black candidate. Since the green rush, it’s come to the surface that Black Americans are being left out of legal cannabis.

The marijuana business is poised to hit $21 billion by 2020  and while legal pot seems subversive, the young industry is being occupied by the same rich white men that already dominate most of our country’s economy. SMH!

Not to mention the long history of mass incarceration tied to cannabis-related offenses.  Between 2001 and 2010, 88 percent of the 8.2 million drug arrests were marijuana-related offenses. Beyond that, “Blacks are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana,” according to the ACLU.”

As we get closer to the primaries and eventually election day time will only tell if Kamala Harris is really bout it, bout it.
