Deshaun Watson gives his first NFL game check to Texans’ cafeteria ladies
Rookie quarterback for the Houston Texans Deshaun Watson is one of the most stand up guys in the NFL. The 22-year-old’s coach compared him to Michael Jordan due to his outstanding talent and maturity.
His demeanor proves that he is a great choice for the face of a franchise. In a close game with the mighty Patriots last Sunday, Watson managed some impressive passes ultimately losing by 3 points.
Watson’s unique abilities go far beyond than the field though, proving time and time again that he’s just a great guy. Back in April, the young star copped his Mom a 2017 Jaguar for her birthday.

Seeing a young athlete celebrate their parent like that warms my heart. His knack for thoughtfulness doesn’t end with his family though.
After the devastating Hurricane in Houston a couple weeks ago, a few members of the Texans staff were left without homes.
While efforts to rebuild the city continue, Deshaun decided to take matters into his own hands. Earlier this week after receiving his first game check Watson split his earnings up three ways.
Each split would go to one of three employees who work in the team’s cafeteria. The three ladies recently lost everything to Hurricane Harvey and with Deshaun’s help can hopefully get back on their feet.

Chill, let me not get emotional.
With this act of kindness, Deshaun showed that he truly has the best interests in mind for everyone around him.
Before becoming an NFL player helping others, Watson experienced his own act of kindness when he was 11 years old. In 2006, former NFL RB Warrick Dunn helped give Watson and his family a new home.

Living with his single mother and 3 siblings at the time, looking back on the moment Watson recalled,
“I felt grown having my own room, just having my own bed, not really being squished, not really worrying about someone sneaking up on me, it was a great moment, a special moment.”
Watson’s good heart runs deep, especially knowing his upbringing. While the NFL season has started with some controversy, the quarterback spins right around it.
In this crazy world I still believe good people exist and Deshaun Watson keeps my hope alive.
